| Ok... Today I finally planted my first seeds. This is my first attempt at growing so I was just wondering if I did anything wrong and what I need to do next. I dug the holes and put a 3-6-3 vegetable fertilizer (Scott's brand) in with the seeds and watered them. The soil looked dark but there was some clay. Didn't check the pH of the soil prior to planting. I am just more or less trying it out. The spot is concealed by pines and is close to a river (not close enough to flood). It is going to be in the 40's during the night around here. Will this be too cold? It is time for it to warm up and I am hoping the weather will be suitable by the time they pop up. I would like to know what most people think the best fertilizers/plant foods are for the early stages of the plant? How much/how often should I go and water them (or even bother if it rains often enough?) I was planning on visiting the site every other week to see how things are going and I was going to fertilize once a month. Does this sound o.k.? Sorry if the questions seem a bit amateur, just want to learn what's best for my plants. Thanks! §-Marijuana_Man-§ | ||

| MJ Man we are in the same boat, but i have planted a few other things before and so i know some stuff about planting. I have already started mine. I dont see anything you did wrong but i ahve a few pointers. 1- you should have germ. yer seeds first in a damp paper cloth. 2- im not sure if direct fert. if harmful to a seed or is even needed. good luck growing and keep me posted. -jb | ||

| It shouldnt be harmed at all by the weather, i planted mine thinking that it was going to get cold again, and it snowed so i just thought hey i guess i will just plant another one, i go out there and the seed had grown about 1/2 inch since the snow, i think they just go into a slow stage and then come back around when it gets warm when they are germinating | ||

![]() | if its almost constant snow that means the ground is probibly frozen there for the roots cannot grow and the weather would be way to cold for the little ones in the first place. hope i helped

Wait till its summer or grow inside. Im sick of seein people killin plants cause they are not patient. It looks like your doin fine but dont fertilize for 3 weeks because seedlings cant handle all the nutrients and you risk burning them. | ||
