I'm better than I thought!!!
permalink

I started these indoors in March and moved them out in April. I thoutht that that was too soon but I couldn't help myself. They are now 5,6, and 7 ft tall. That's way too big for me!! I'm paranoid. We had rain here daily for 2 weeks straight but my soil is sandy so I don't see any overwatering signs, well, maybe a little, but I don't think its anything to worry about. These pics are about 2 weeks old and they've gained heigth since the pics were taken. What do I do? I don't want to start hacking at them but their stalks are really thick and I'm afraid I'll snap them if I start bending them over. I had one stalk broke yesterday inside the skin when I tried that. I'll whack them if I have to but I sure don't want to. One has been tied down for about a month now and is doing good. I wish I had done all of them that way. Damn the man for making me alter these beautiful plants. I wish I could just let them grow and grow the way Mother Nature intended. These were just good bagseed so I don't know the strain and I've still got a long way to go before flowereing, at least 2 months for where I live. In the last pic that plant has grown 3 ft in almost 3 weeks. Rainwater does seem to be the best. Any advice?

I love a huge plant, but when it has you freakin out a little bit over it, its not fun

I don't like topping plants, I'd rather tie them down but if you really have to you might want to top. It's better than removing the whole thing.
Cut 'em down to maybe 2-3 feet at the tallest, its mid june so they'll have plenty of time to recover to veg more & then flower.

You said you had them inside before, maybe you could clone the tops & turn those 3 into 6

i would definitely tie those babies down if you dont want to top em. I know I would do a little bit of both but its up to you. Good luck on whatever you do!

Lightbulb here is a thought

I came up with this idea a couple weeks ago when I was doing some air layering on my girls. The full soaked pete pellet wieghed the limb down so I took some garden wire and attached it to both the branch and the main stock of the plant to help support the weight.
well I was completly smoked out when I tied the branch up so the end of the wire that was on the branch was directly bellow the pete pellet. didnt notice it right away so it was that way for like a week and a half til I got back to check and feed the girls that limb was growing side ways bent right at the wire.
here is my point if your worried about breaking them by just using bend and tie method. mabey you could use some sort of a weight to slowly bend them over. just dont jump right to a big weight start small and add more till the plant just starts to bend. only leave enough space between the weight and the ground to bend it as far as you would like them to be.
gravity will do the rest and the ground will stop the process when the weight hits it. After their bent where you want them tie it off to something, should be easy to keep em growin sideways after that. I should mention the airlayering only gave me the idea I havent tried this method but dont see why it wouldnt work, I bet some one elese has tried this before might want to wait for another opinion befre trying it lol tail
