So I'm starting to see some faint signs of trichs starting to grow on the leaves. I have been applying a mild "hot sauce" bug spray to my plants. Will this spray have a negative impact on development of the trics? I vouched to not spray when I visited today. Normally I have been applying it every week or so. I'm thinking (hoping) it will be safe now to go without the bug spray. Anyone have any experisnce with my dilemma? Thanks. And also thanks: HC, and HC staff, and HC members. Great info abounds here. ![]()

This place is great, hey? ![]() What seems to be the problem? You don't mention seeing anything that moves... Hot spray, as long as its not strong enough to burn the leaves, will be OK until ~ 1/2 way through flower. Then I wouldn't spray, if I was you. The risk of budrot from moisture gets higher as the buds fatten up.Good air circulation helps prevent bugs getting a foothold. Have you tried neem oil? This can be 'spread' with simple detergent, & dosed to the roots, as a safe systemic. It disturbs the reproductive cycle of most any insects, including spider mites, and is effective for ~4-5wks. Normally it is used as a spray, which doesn't last as long but acts as a contact insecticide, I use both methods now. Screening the air that comes into the grow is the best way to prevent an invasion. You can innoculate too, with beneficial bacteria and fungi. I use all of these measures, & have no insect problems this summer. Wishing you the same.... ![]()

raeky - capsaicin? Sounds like a chemical I wouldn't have any interest in using to begin with. I dont trust those methods. Plus this is just some random bagseed that got thrown in the ground for kicks. Not a large investment, y'know.

When you use a pepper spray , it's the capsaicin that is the "hot" ingredient in the peppers. You might want to develop an interest in that particular chemical. It's more than a matter of trust. ![]() | |||

![]() | I crack myself up. Go figure. Well thanks for the heads up.Depending on the humidity around here I'm planning on letting it go until early-mid october. So any capsaicin i spray next week should be gone by harvest. Additionally though...I thought diluted Frank's Red Hot was one of the methods of choice. ![]()
