im planning my first grow this spring with a friend of mine. im gonna try to pick up a tough outdoor strain cuz im not exactly the most responsible dude and the weather around here is not so great to say the least. i live in NY about 30-40 mins outside NYC. suburbia basically. i think im gonna begin growin early april because im not taking chances with such a cold march (30 degrees today). well i think i have found a good spot to grow, but im not completely sure. its a construction site but i think they cut off the project a few years ago. the builders finished two pillars and then the site hasnt been touched for a few years. its kinda on a plateu above a wooded area. there are some houses next to it but the site is big enough that i dont think they would notice the plants. however im concerned about them noticing me, not the plant. if i visit my plant regularly im risking being seen. i think its pretty good soil, and there arent alot of trees around it. it gets direct sunlight for most of the day aswell. so what do you think? is the site a good idea? its really the only place were the plant wouldnt be seen without it beeing planted in a heavily wooded area. i would plant it in the woods but im afraid there wouldnt be enough sunlight.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | How far away is the grow site away from where you live? it could be a good site but you can't go there everyday. Maybe only 3 times a week. Will you be gettnig there on a bike or a car. Go by bike, cars have license plates: Cops comin to your house knowing your name is not a good thing . On the strain, Afghani would be a good choice. You probably can piss on it evreyday of its life and i think it would stilll grow. Buds would taste like piss tho .Good luck man.. ![]()

![]() | the site is damn close to where i live. if i run up the hill in my backyard and cross the street im pretty much there. i ride BMX so im on a bike pretty much everyday. i could be there alot as long as i remember ![]() so now im on the hunt for seeds. anyone know of a tough strain that would grow outdoors nicely? im also on a budget, i dont want to spend more than 100$ on seeds because im pretty sure ill kick myself in the head if i (edited by scooterpie) up a really expensive grow Last edited by scooterpie; 04-08-2006 at 06:51 AM..

![]() | im rethinking the construction site now... i think the strong aroma would be picked up by some of the neighboring houses. the closest one would be about 60-70 feet from were im planting. i dont think theyll see it, but they might very well be able to smell it. do you think a more heavily wooded area would get enough sunlight?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i doubt they'd smell it.. and 100$ is far from an expensivegrow. even tho its an open area.. it sounds like ur still close to suburbia, and people like dog walkers and curious teens would be wandering the area frequently.. It's ur call tho. Finding a decent location is the hardest thing about growing outdoors.

![]() | i know its not an expensive grow but it is for a broke ass teenager without a job i think i found a better location anyways. theres an old lady down the street from me that i think died a long time ago, and nobody knows yet. she has an old ass barn i can grow behind. i would grow inside of it but i dont wanna buy any lights and all that shit and to tell you the truth its a scary ass barn .its also right next to a stream with fresh water. goooooood stuff

![]() | stay away from construction sites man, even if nothing has been going on there for a long time. You'd be surprised at the number of people cruising around those places. and just think about how many other people are out there thinking about the same thing you are, about that place.
