![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A trail is the Guerilla grower's worst enemy!...There are soooo many variables in outdoor growing, from state to state and country to country, but a trail to yer grow is probably going to be the first thing that leads LEO, or a thief to yer garden. Now, I know that in some places the vegitation on the ground is pretty thick, so foot prints arent such a big deal....You guys that grow in those areas may get a good laugh at this thread... In my area we have nice Pinon, Juniper, and Pine forrests, but the topsoil is VERY dusty. Once You put yer feet down, you leave very obvious prints. After a hard rain....the soil drys out and forms a crusty top...walking on this crud is like leaving a map for people to find my grow with..and there is absolutely no way to cover up the prints without making it look 10times worse!....I couldnt deal with this huge threat!!...so heres what I came up with.... .................................................................................................... .. Anti-Footprint Shoes. They are designed like snow shoes...The idea was to create a platform that was alot wider than my foot. I needed something light and strong to distribute my weight propperly. I neded something to disguise the traditional shoe print....I decided to use rugged pieces of foam from the army supply store...Heres how to put it all togeather: Materials: -Old shoes(with relitavely thick sole's) -1" Wood Screws -Strong Multipurpose glue....or Hot Glue Gun. -Two, 1.5'x 2' ,pieces of 4 inch thick mattress foam from the local supply store.. -2 or 3 Carwash sponge's, or various smaller pieces of higher density foam. -1/4 inch plywood...(platform) -Drill+ bits -Jig saw...not totaly nescessary..but will help ALOT.. -Large serated knife...or very sharp rasorblade.. -Spray Paint -Marker -Strong Tape .................................................................................................... ... Steps. 1. (Platforms)..Cut 1/4inch thick plywood board down to 2 manageable pieces..Mine were little squares, about 1.5'x 2'... ![]() 2. Lay each shoe down on the middle of the plywood boards..Sketch an outline of yer shoe with tha marker, this will be the original footprint..remove tha shoe..Now sketch a rough outline around the shoe print about one to three inches out. Try not to make it look exactly like the shoe print.. 3. Take yer jigsaw and cut out the line that you just made...the "FAT" footprint.. ![]() 4.Drill 10+ screw size holes on the toe edge of the original footprint in the wood platform. Basicly from the ball of yer foot forward.. ![]() 5. Place the old shoe on the original footprint in the wood platform. Tape on with strong tape. 6.Take 1" wood screws. Drill the screws into the sole of the shoe from the bottom of the platform.. Remove the tape..Check with yer hand, if you went too far with the screws, before you put yer feet in there ..If so, replace the 1'' screws with somethin a little shorter..7. Glue the larger pieces of foam to the bottom of the platform's..Let em dry.. ![]() 8.Cut smaller pieces of foam/carwash sponge up with yer serrated knife or razorblade in odd designs..Just start slicing and dicing away at the foam ..make it look as rugged as you can! Hot glue those all over the bottom of the larger pieces of foam...Then start hacking away at the larger pieces..You dont want any straight edges or corners..make it look very rough..Let dry.. ![]() 9.( Optional)..Spraypaint the foam brown or green...sometimes the foam comes in crazy colors..an I am gonna be storing mine in the bushes ..Dont want em stickin out like a sore thumb..Make sure you black out any reflectors yer shoes may have..10. An her ya go... ![]() .................................................................................................... ... Peace King Kong- Plantr (note to mod..pretty please dont put this in the security section,)

![]() | Nice, great tutorial on making some 'invisible walkers.' Looks like they should work, as long as they dont scuff up the ground too roughly, and they dont leave a foam trail behind. Have you actually tried them yet? Definitely a solid idea, Id be worried about the screws, but seriously, looks good! Nice contribution.

![]() | What about traction with those shoes? It seems to be a VERY slick idea. Around here as long as you pay attention to where you step its pretty easy to avoid footprints, but occasionally some are left in muddy areas. But It seems our environments are slighly different. I just try to either erase my footprints, or step in the grass.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | They are only designed to go from the vehicle, to a spot hidden about 75 feet away in the bushes...There I have my boots hidden...A quick transfer, and I have all the traction I need... but..honestly...these shoes have way more "traction", than any pair of hiking boots....The foam is very porus..it would grip the earth pretty well if it had to..but all the walking im gonna do in these babys is gonna be on flat terrain....

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | .....all thats gonna do is make the traction on yer shoes camo...nothing else....The traction isnt what gives away footprints....Taping the bottom of yer shoes is to eliminate evidence that will pin U to yer grow......Dude.
