![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A 2'x2'x2' hole is 8 cu. ft. volume of soil. 25% perlite would equal 2 cu. ft. of the total volume. 12.5% perlite would equal 1 cu. ft. That ought to get you in the neighborhood. ![]()

Have you seen this thread? Soil mixes are kinda personal, people do it all different ways. There is no "right" or "perfect" mix, you find a method or a mix that makes sense to you and that you feel comfortable using. At the moment, I'm using nearly 50% perlight in my soil mix. It's the first time that I've been happy with the drainage in my potted plants. Lot's to learn. Peace- OD ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | alright, will make my soil mix today in a huge tub. test it with a $30 electric ph tester i got from home depot. i know that perlite is alkaline, and peat moss is acidic.. correct? well id like to go about 40% perlite atleast but i dunno if i want to be needing to go buy more bags of perlite. I feel if i stay around 20-30% of each hole (2'x2'x2') i will have enough for all my new holes. (kinda just gonna guess 20-30% of the tub and fill it with perlite, then add potting soil, peat moss, and some dark soil. Test it and see what the ph is id kinda like an guess of about how much peat im gonna need to throw in. Id like to do this right and land my ph around the 6.3-6.5 and then ill increase it towards flowering

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Im with Outdoors on this one.Sometime back Daltron said he liked a larger % of perlite in his soils so they would dry out faster .I started at about 30% but over time got it up to 40% and it has been so much easier to control my grows.Seems to me that the quicker the soil dries the more nutes it can handle. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've never tested perlite. I use it right out of the 3 cu.ft. bag and have never had a problem. Peace- OD ![]()
