About a week ago something happened to my plant. I went to go water it and it was severed between the top node and the cluster of new growth at the top. Now I have two stems below the severe line, So basically it got topped, thank god it happened where it did. Well I checked it today and found my first white hair. Its about two months old, Is the topping at this point good or bad?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The topping might cause the flowering to take a little longer now that some energy will have to go to repairing the area but probably isn't going to stress it enough by itself to lead to hermaphrodism. Of course, the topping will cause slightly lower yield and your plant would have been happier had it not happened, but crazy things do happen that we can't control (like a drunk guy snapping 1/3 of a plant completely off, thank god for clones). Just give your girl some lovin'. Truant

![]() | you should be fine with the phantom topping DSGB.especially since it just began to bud.you may actually get a slightly larger harvest due to more possible budding sites.what do you suspect the culprit to be?,deer or some other varmint?happy growing,'Buz

![]() ![]() | Haha, drunk memories. I almost went in there at the dark cycle when I was drunk and flipped the light on. Then I had a moment of clarity for a second and realized what the hell I was doing. Whew. Topping don't necessarily mean bigger yields, there are better ways of increasing your yield than topping, especially in its first stage of flower.

![]() | probably a varmint that was looking for moisture, found it in your plant and didn't like the taste it left in its mouth.in the greater scheme of survival of the fittest animals can sense which plants are containing the moisture in ways we can only imagine.you may have gotten off easy this time.plants that are maturing usually don't have varmint problems as bad as grasshopper and insect probs.its the baby plants that get raped by varmints the most

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | you should take precautions and do something so it doesnt get 'topped' again. topping in veg is fine, but topping during flowering is a nono! Check out these pics... the first is of a plant that got completely mauled by a deer during the first couple weeks of growth. then the next picture is of it now. natures topping did a great job for this plant.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i had an experience with a caterpillar tipping growth points. it lived in a leaf it had curled up with silk, so presume it was nocturnal; never saw it eat in daylight, only the damage it had done. if i catch one, or any type of bug, grasshopper, etc i crush them between my fingers and smear on plant by touching all over. plant smells of death. cheers nigel
