I have done an experiment with my current 6 plant grow, and am not really sure what to think. As a result, I decided to post and get some feedback from the community... That said, here's what I have done. Four of the plants in my current grow are clones from clones from clones from seeds. The strain is Sudan Impact, or sometimes referred to as "Sudden Impact". The other two plants are from seed; strain is Speed Queen. All plants are in day 39 of flowering. When I set them to flower, lights were set to the standard 12/12. Approximately 10-11 days, I cut the lights to 10 hours on, and 14 hours off; 5-6 days later I cut the lights to 9 hours on, 15 hours off. My thought process was that, between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice, the hours of "daylight" become shorter, so plants grown outdoors do not receive as much light. That said, I believe I was coming closer to duplicating nature, artifically. What I'm seeing from my plants, are, they seem to be maturing faster. Most of the white hairs have turned amber, and the plants are frosting over nicely. Trics are still relatively clear, so they are not ready for harvest, IMO, but are getting closer. RECOMMENDED flowering for Sudan Impact is 50-55 days and the Speed Queen is between 45-50 days. I have, however, noticed that the maturing process seems to be quicker in the Sudan Impact plants; the last two days the plants have changed dramatically. I wish I could/did takes some pics, but... Does anyone think that, when you clone a plant, the 3rd generation would mature quicker? And, that, coupled with the reduction of the light cycle, aid/speed-up in the maturing process? From my observation [and this test] would say that it would and has. Has anyone else tried this?? Reply/discussion appreciated. Nelson

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi Nelson Thanks for posting your results! This is not related to propagation by cuttings, but is related to your lighting schedule. Shorter daylength generally decreases time to ripeness, but also decreases yield and potency (the latter particularly at < 10 hour daylength). Longer daylength generally increases time to ripeness, but also inccreases yield, and to a certain extent potency. ![]() penguin | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks Penguin. Now that you mention it, the buds do not seem as large as in the last grow. I would have to say that your information follows the logic of the experiment. They do, however, seem to be frosting over sooner [which again follows the logic], and seem to be more pronounced [which doesn't follow the logic]. I guess that I'll have to wait until harvest/cure to see about potency of the end product. Again, appreciate your .Nelson
