![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | No I dont think so. When standard grow info tells you your ambient temps should be 75, you should not be factoring in radiant heat. There for your thermometer should be in the shade.

I keep my thermometer almost level with my lights, with just the top 2cm or so above the relector, so the sensor is in the shade. Reflctive materials such as Mylar and Reflectix will reflect heat as well as light, so consider this when mounting/placing your thermometer, if at all possible, as well as having the sensor in the shade, also try to allow air to pass freely around the unit and it should give more accurate readings. ![]()

To cover the sound of fans, pumps, ballasts, etc ... get something innocuous that generates noise. I grow in the basement ... and directly over top (on the second floor) of where my grow is ... I have placed an empty fish tank. The sound of the water pump, air pump and bubbles breaking on the surface covers any traveling sound from the grow room below. And if anyone is ever next to the false wall in the basement and asks about the hummmmmmmmmm ... I would blame it on the fish tank above ![]() And yes ... I said "empty" fish tank ... just water, decor and bubbles ... no fish! We have a cat ... a very, very, clever cat We used to have fish ... but decided that this time it was not going to be a seafood buffet for our cat ![]() Maven

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | cab growers - heat rises. the temp above the canopy is not necessarily radiant heat. and heat is heat. i use a thermometer with remote probes, collect all the data and average the temp. DONT tell your GF! wife, friends.. ANYONE!!!!!! ever. at all. no exceptions. build a catch tray with at least 1" lip and plastic liner into your cab. leaks there will be! {soil or hydro} Radioshack pocket microscope = badass! kids science toys at the toy store.. plastic non breakable measuring devices! and droppers. Hurricane glass from the hobby/craft store and a 5" duct adapter = homegrown cool tube for under 15 bucks. lastly.. ozone generators CAN KILL YOU! dont use them. they cause all kinds of respritory ailments esp. in children, and its way too easy to set the saturation level too high. only use them in a baffle box that ultimately vents outside.. you do not want high o3 levels in your home! | ||
