Question about hydro

I've never grown hydro before, only soil, but i know someone who does, he just harvested hist first crop and it turned out good, i was wondering, other then a shorter veg period, is there any other significant benifits to growing hydro, as far as yeild or potency, over growing in good ol'e fashon soil.

You will hear yadda and yadda, yadda but i took a little tour of some fine growers last year.. a few more this year... some soil .......some hydro.....The bottom line was how well each persons garden fit into their lives cause it was all premium..The rest was strictly preference...

i've done soil guerrilla style but indoor i have only used hydro indoor. i like them both for different reasons so it really comes down to what scooterpie said, it's all about you and your preference.

i think one major difference is there is more control of the medium and nutrients in hydroponic... the flipside is it less stable and things like your PH and PPM (nutrient strength) can drift until you dial in your grow.
i tend to hover over my garden at least twice a day so i can deal with the needy hydro system. i also like it because of it's lack potting soil and the mess that can create...and now that i've used it hydro is actually more simple than soil to me. probably just me though.
hope that helps.

fo.rrest is growing every day.fo.rrest is growing every day.

quicker nutrient transfer insted of the nuts going to the soil then the plant looking in the soil for it the nuts are right there when they need it and theres no soil to root transfer its faster for the plant there for the plant can grow and yield more.

Faster growth and more yeild. I have done both soil and hydro, under the same lamps. The hydro grows are fast and big.

Im on my 1st hydro 4 weeks into 12/12
I have 5 plants in soil and 8 in a dwc.....The dwc are twice the size with a 1/4 of the vege time..Ive grown in soil for 5 years and have never seen growth like dwc..
Realy its alot easyer than I first thought.
Check out my journal if you want to see the difference.
