I need to grow bigger buds - how?

I have ppl *****in' that my colas are too small. Quantity is OK but its like about thumb sized stuff. My buyer is saying hi is happier with colas like bananas. trouble is I'm having no success so far. I've started to trim up the base of the plant so only the top 50% or so of it is there, and like wise make sure there are only 5/6 main stems, also with their lower ends trimmed.
do ppl reckon this is how? or if not how do you guys do it?

As lab rat said, you gotta fill us in. For general reference though, the MAJOR factors in bud size are light (HPS is best for flowering), genetics(strain, what generation, etc.), nutrition(bubblers will help alot, so will CO2), and one that lab rat forgot, ROOT SPACE! i learned about that last one the hard way ALWAYS make sure your roots have plenty of room before you start flowering, use at LEAST 2 gallon pots (except for a SOG, that's a whole nuther beast)

ill emphasize the at LEAST 2 gallons. if you have a 3 ft plant or larger, id say a 5 gallon is more like it.

and obviously the sun is the best light, but not everybody can or does grow outdoor, so then refering back to what wiz said, HPS for flowering, and MH for veging... of course, an HPS can take a plant all the way through her life if one cant afford seperate lighting set-ups for the differeint lighting cycles.

I enjoy popcorn bud at times. Usually the perfect size for a good fat bowl.

Use storage crates. 7 gallons of soil in a one square foot area. Claose to growing in the earth as you can get, density wise.

A good looking picture. Mine is similarbut I have the buds trimmed so about 50% of the bottom of the plant is bare. And I have way less dirt than you - tho' with smaller plants.

What light are you using with those babies? 600 1000?

Thats bagseed under a 400 HPS. Those plants were harvested a month ago. I got just over 10 OZs out of a grow that was not at its potential. Im sure, with proper genetics and careful plant screening I could yield a pound from this light using this setup.

I have harvest pics in Success Stories and Diaries, and at Overgrow, if you wanna check em out

The pic is my newborn daughters finger around mine.

I think Im just gonna change it.....sigh.....
