Fan leaves

When a plant is nearing the end of its development in the flowering stage do the older fan leaves turn yellow and begin to fall off?

If so, could someone detail specifics? If not, what could be causing this? It is not the contemporary symptoms of any health problems.

Ah, thanks. Should I snip the leaves or would it be best to leave them be? It would make sense to increase the N in the fert but as harvest is nearing I had stopped giving nutrients.

Is there any last minute stuff I can do to help increase the size of the buds? One plant got sick during vegetative, I managed to save it. However, many of the lower leaves were killed, thus limiting bud production. It is a shame, as it was my best plant. I still think it will be the best bud out of them all.

Regards,

No, dont snip them
permalink

when they are ready to fall off they will or when they look all crispy take and GENTLY pull down on the dead leaf and if it doesnt coem off with hardly any force then the plants not threw with it yet

You dont want to feed them near harvest, your buds will taste like fertilizer if you do. Thats why its nessasary to stop all ferts and flush, for 2 weeks before harvest.

well how far are you in flowering?? the only thing I can suggest is dont give them too much darkness unless your in a hurry to finish. give them strictly 12/12 and give them the strongest light you can afford

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

My plants are outdoors and thus subject to the conditions of the weather. I would say they have been flowering about a month. 10-20% pistols colored, probably. Rough guesstimate.

Do I have time to resume fertilizing? Should I? If so, what would you recommend?

Apologies for the ignorance, this is my first harvest and I am learning all I can.

I believe you would be ok giving her another dose of fert
permalink

and i would recommend high P, like 10-55-6 or something along that line. that will give it a boost before harvest maybe give her 2 feedings but dont over fert her, give'em about half the recommended dosage like if they say a tablespoon a gallon then give her a half a tbsp then after 2 feedings water her REAL good with plain water a couple times, that way you'll flush the fert off the roots and it will have clean water to drink and your buds wont taste like fertilizer Goodluck man and dont worry about the questions, thats why were here

That pic helps!

I wouldnt fert again, they look too close to harvest. Best to just let the plants grow till done. Ferting now could ruin the whole thing, specially if she suprises you and decides to finish up right away.
