8 weeks is on the fast end of flowering, she is looking really good and could prob still go a little more.

You should get a little handheld 60x microscope to look at the trichs, it will give you clearer results than a camera.

Illuminated Microscope - RadioShack.com

I bought one of these this year and immediately realized I should have had it all along...
It makes it so much easier to determine harvest time. I like to grab some strains early and others I let go till there are a lot of amber heads.....

Thanks for comms,
Yeah shes 8 1/2 weeks now, and only the last 2 days have i noticed any discernable change (big word when ive had a smoke, lol) so im guessing she is turning.

When she does start to turn really noticabley how many days roughly does it usually take til the 'couchlock' stage??

P.s ive been taking smallish samples for a week or so and shes very very good.
(even quick dried) the only reason shes at 8 1/2 weeks is cos my camera broke a week ago and so i thought im now NOT gonna cut her until i can get camera fixed, and seeing the trichs still been pretty clear today im so so so glad i did wait..
Because like i said i want the major stone feeling from her.

It depends on many factors. Strain, pheno etc..I recommend getting the scope and then if you want couchlock effect from your buds then let the heads turn 35% -50% amber. I usually harvest sooner than that, but I like a more cerebral effect because I smoke all day long.

Well 'siestam' shes been 'frosting' since 14th september so thats dead on a month, i was wondering how long it usually takes from frosting to appear to when it ends (max potential time)

And going for 'couchlock' purely from a financial point of view, harder hit less needed = lasts longer

You are almost done. Do you know what strain you have? My friend has had diesel, blue dream, pineapple and all of those are harvested from 8.5-10weeks all a matter of preference. Head high - harvest earlier. Couch lock- wait later.

It looks like you might have a longer flower strain, or just get a 60x microscope and check the trichrome heads.

Good luck

FOUR WAYS STRAIN....

Hi guys well its "9 and a half weeks" IN FLOWER,
and i still aint chopped.

She is starting to die slowly, and the ambers are starting to appeaqr all over, but still not quite enough for me..
So what i originally wanted finuished by 1st october, is still growing 23 days later...

She is smoking lovely, and my first 1 of the five colas (left the other 4 colas on her)
is nearly dry (its been 7 days) so hopefully tomorrw that bud can go into my mason jars for curing.

The colas in the pics look very nice and all aRE very very firm (so should get a good amount)
So far ive take half an ounce DRY.
Ive had to weigh it as i took it bit by bit.
I reckon theres a good couple of ounces left on her, as the buds are very thick and all the stems are bending due to weight.

Im just waiting to see afew more ambers, and once im happy, then the LIGHTS WILL GO OUT ON HER FOREVER...
Yep im gonna put her into 24 hours of darkness for the final push then choppity chop..

Its been a great experience growing her, and if it wasnt for this site none of this would have been possible..

Thanks for looking, next update should contain HER FINAL INTACT PICS, then the chopping and drying process.

Keep watching daily now as ''THE END IS NEAR'' D:¬(
