How to get bushier indoor plants

I found this interesting so I thought I'd share it.

Why waste light and electricity growing stem? Stretched-out plants are the bane of indoor growers. There are several ways to reduce internodal length and thus grow denser, more efficient buds.

The easiest and most under-used way to control internodal stretch is temperature control. Plant internodal length is directly related to the difference between day and night temperatures ? the warmer your day cycle is as compared to your night cycle, the greater your internode length will be. The opposite also holds true; the closer your day and night temperatures, the shorter your internodes will be.

My thermostat controlled fans keep my flower room within 7-10f
between lights on and off.

My stretch since putting this in has been kept to the minimal 2x.

but you have to have cool intake air
I keep my mancave at 68 so the flower-room can maintain 74-80

and you have to have enough fan power to do the job
I use a 6" poc duct-booster for the light [550HPS]
and a stanley blower to vent the rest of the 88cu ft room

I haven't mastered watering....yet

kudos Spud for the article

I think the article mentions this as a dramatic way to limit plant height. Chlorosis (yellowing of the leaves) and droopy leaves will be the result. You can do it temporarily to limit a runaway plant from stretching and the plant should return to normal after you correct the temps.
