Im not exactly sure this is the appropriate spot for this, so i apologize in advance. but the question of the day is how much light is to much light for new seed starts? i am currently in the germ stage, and have a cabinet setup. the light i have for vegging is a 125w cfl light. how close or far away should i keep it? i have about a 5inch leeway to play with. thanks in advance for replys | ||

| cool no prob...rolling yea I have a vented dome and I keep my t5's sit'n right on top. If your dome is not vented one thing you could to to make it vent would be to cut a hole or such and place tape over the hole for venting.

i have one of each. thought that i could use the taller vented one for clones, then the lower profile one for new starts | ||

as this is the inaugural grow in this cabinet, i did a small test run of time and the temps got to 78.9F. that was with the temp probe approximately 5 inches away from light, for 2.5hours. what needs to be explained i feel is that my cabinet is in the garage, with 3 dogs. therefore b/c it is getting to be winter out, i heat the garage for the comfort of them. in return they give me what i hope is more co2 for the girls. on a side note, mods is there a way to link this thread to my grow journal that is in my sig? nevermind, i will just copy the post and paste it. thanks for the question spawn a new train of thought.
