Reduced odor in the last week of flowering?
permalink

Has anyone ever noticed that the smell become less stong in the last week or so of flowering. Or if this is to signal the plants autumning off and coming to the end of flowering. I have been able to smell the sweet stench outside of my grow room. Once the plant hit the 8th week of flower it does not seem to have the same strength of smell. From thinking back the only things that have changed from week 7 when it stank and week 8 when i doesn't, was the fact that i have started to flush. This may be the reason for the loss of smell. Anyones ideas or suggestions would be great, i was very pumped about the smell and now i am not sure if it is going to be as pungent as i first thought.Does anyone think that it is going to get that smell back when i harvest and cure?

I find what is happening to you really interesting. For myself they smell the most at the end until I cut them. Maybe you are getting used to the smell since you have been around it for so long, thus making it seem less smelly? This would be my suggestion only because while my cab is stealth and my roommates including myself can't smell it, the odor is still pungent to new people coming in the house (they just assume we smoke more than we do).

I think the reasons for less smelly stuff is covered well by ...Trippy

I know I get used to the smells because I am exposed to my grow oftine through out the day. A few harvests back I was smelling neary nothing. Then one day I was away for about 10 hours & things changed, when I returned I could smell my grow much further than I expected.

Course my sinuses effect how well I can sense nice smells, but I think even a dog could get used to MJ smells if exposed to the scent constantly.
