my plants are 11 days old and 2" in height......very bushy. i am considering topping 1 of my plants and have read in these forums to cut at the 4th node. i was wondering if the cotyledon leaves count as the 1st node? not counting the cotyledon node my plants have 3 nodes, and are just beginning the 4th.

I would let your plant get a little bigger and then top at a lower node, It will bring your plant back down in size but it will work better

I second that...

Let your plant grow to the five leaflet stage for awhile ...let's you get to know your plant, let's you preflower to see if its possibly a girl or a definite boy...

And if it's a girl, when you top you get yurself a clone ready to root and take her place in the vegetative cycle...already matured too...

So you see there desen't have to be too much loss of time and you could double your harvest without having to double your efforts.
