sups i just transplanted about 7-12 of my plants that wre growing about an inch above the soil and then i watered it and then i put it in my windowsill to get some fresh air and [DIRECT SUNLIGHT], then about 10-20 mins later, most of them started to fall to the floor (the smaller ones were to short to even droop)!!! now i have them proppped up with a bit of thin wire and one of my plants seem to be shrinking in size and is continuing to droop low to the ground. right now they are being held up with the wire. oh yea, my grow space is a 3'(length) 3'(height) 1.5'(width). my setup has 3 floros 30 watts each and one shop lite that is 33 watts which is said to bring "warm pleasant light". i dont know what i am doing wrong to my babies, i cant figure it out. oh yea, in my jiffy starting tray, some fuzz (mold) has started to appear on the trays which the sprout hasnt even lifted its head from the soil!! i have decided not to use the Jiffy tray anymore, and just to germinate in a paper towel and then transplant into the pots. PLEASE HELP ME. i dont want to lose these plants!!

thanks

Are you're saying that these seedlings are only an inch tall when you transplanted them? I normally have to steak up my seedlings until they are strong enough to stand on there own. Normally around three weeks, and they are strong enough. Keep the fluoroescents about two inches away from the plants' tops.

yep, they were about an inch when i tranplanted them. and back then my soil was nice and cool and moist, now it is dry as hell! im not sure but do i have to continually mist them? and how much shoulkd i feed 1 inch sprouts?? i usually fed them one capful of distilled water because i was scared of overwatering. oh yea, how should i keep my soil moist? if i mist the top, only the top would be moist and not the botom, am i correct? i use Supersoil. im real confused please help.

thanks

WHAT YOU WANT TO DO IS SOAK THE POT THOUGHLY THEN LET IT DRY OUT REAL GOOD THEN SOAK AGAIN. YOU DO NOT WANT TO KEEP MOIST ALL THE TIME CAUSE YOU WANT THE ROOTS TO HAVE GROW TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF THE POT. IF THEY ARE ALWAYS WET THE ROOTS GET WATER FROM THE TOP OF THE POTS WICH ALLOWS VERY LITTLE ROOT GROWTH
