Florescents for vegetive growth?
permalink

Hey everyone with helpful knowledge! Do florescent lights work okay for vegging? We have 4, four foot, 40watt floescent tubes above the planned growing area, if we keep them nice and close to the plant tops will that work alright? We have reflective walls that we can move along with growth and the fixtures are on chains (perusual) so we can higher or lower them according to plant size as well, sound okay or are we waisting more and more time? (mind you we are pretty damn broke) [IMG][/IMG]

how many plants will you have under there? you can fit maybe four fully veged plants under there well. and when its time to bloom you can get a 250w hps or something. but to answer your question, yes you will grow beautiful plants under floro.[during the veg stage]-- keep em close as possible and dont overwater them. youll be fine. latr J D.

Yup JORDANSDAD I agree with you totally. They say some people have grown vegging and flowering with flours. They do say the yields are much lower. Are you planning on getting more light. Even if it's floursents, because once the plants start growing, you're gonna want to get some along the sides also.

Cool white tubes are great for vegging - better then aquarium or floro "grow" lights.

Grow lights

Nope we don't have Grow Lights, or any of those fancy pants aquarium ones either (12.99 a piece... fcuk that) just regular cool white. We actually did plan on vegging four plants, and we're hoping that we can come up with at least two females. We are also really hoping to come up with some damn MONEY for a 250 hps light before its time to flower the ladies.

Another question:

After reading around I've noticed a few people mentioning that a mix of warm and cool lights works better than just cool, is that fact or is it just another personal grow opinion stated as fact?

One more:

How many healthy, full, lush, potent plants can we fit under 250watts of hps lighting? How about 150watts?

Gracias bros-

for vegging, deffinately use cool white - people that wanna use floro's for the entire grow get some warm whites too cause they think itll help them get a "more full" spectrum of light. this is a more full spectrum - but its still floro's dig? if you have 3 sq. ft. of space enclosed, the 150w hps will grow two fine females. if you have around 6 or 7 sq. ft. a 250 will be sufficient, but not primo. give me some numbers to play with and ill give you the specs. latr, J D
