![]() | I am taking a plant biology course and the scientific definition of secondary growth is increase in diameter from lateral meristems. Meristems are areas on the plant where the cells are splitting. Primary growth is growth at the tips and edges of leaves and the apex of the plant. Secondary growth will make the stem get thicker rather than taller. | ||
