First-Timer Using: - 400W HPS - Sta-Green Organic Soil - seed from good bad - alluminum foil - fan for circulation I think I've figured out my problem already, but I'd like to post it anyway just to see what other suggestions everyone has. The plant is three days old and it is about 6 inches long. The cotyledons and the first pair of serrated leaves are all that is seen. They are gradually getting bigger, but at a slower rate then the main stem. Now, my questions are - 1) Is stretching ok in some instances? Or, How far can the plant stretch before it is to much? 2) Does the light really need to be merely inches away from the plant? (My HPS light seems pretty bright and hot, so I figured it didn't need to be right up against it. But, from what I'm mostly reading it seems I'm wrong.) Thanks for everyone's input in advance and happy growth to you all. peace, Drastikat

![]() | If your plant is that small you shouldn't be using your HPS just yet. Use a flouro for the first couple of weeks. It doesn't get so hot so u can put it closer to ur baby girlz.
