I don't have any pictures, but I switched to 12/12 11 days ago, and I just saw my first Pistils today. However, the girl is a little bit of a late bloomer compared to the other plant. They are both bagseed, and it's pretty clear to me that they are different strands. One is a much darker green with more leaf and much thicker than the other.

Now the question. How long do I have before the one which "might" be male becomes a problem? How long before my possible denial of a male costs me precious female bud?

I'd be happy with 1 female out of the two - but the plant that I see no pistils on is clearly in fine shape. Even better when compared to the other. <insert evil voice in my head> And since I'm a first time grower - maybe this girl just shows herself differently? </end evil voice in my head>

I don't want to waste a good plant - but on the other hand, I don't want to waste light on male. How much time do I have?????



grow info:
1st grow - 2 plants
Soil - bagseed
18" X 24" X 52"Cabnet
~13,000 Lumens (2 150w floro, 1 70W HPS, 2 20W floro)
40% Humidity
~86-88 degrees
2 17quart (4.25 Gal) Buckets
Nutes - just a little PH down and Bloodmeal(for N) with water.

Males tend to show sooner than females, so the longer sex takes to show the greater possibility it is a lady.

Just keep a lookout for the lady hairs or the guy balls. You'll be able to see the male flowers long before they open up, if it is indeed a male.

p.s. that unknown plant should show any time now. If you look close enough there may be telltale signs already.

I just don't have the heart to give up hope yet!

It was painful 4 weeks ago when I went from 3 to 2, and had to pick one to be the weekest. Maybe I should look up one of those "making oil" threads.....

Sounds like you are suffering from NAS.
That is Newbie Anxiety Syndrome. Don't worry that will pass.

Even if you have only one female, it is a wonderful thing, so focus on that and hope for the best on the other.
