ok, my two are about 3 weeks old, have 4 nodes, and are really starting to branch out, but they smell alot, i thought they only smell durring the flower stage? is this normal, also i so far the signs of being female are there, i have small green hair like things sticking out between the nodes, also my babies are only about 7.5 inches tall, does that seem to big or too small for only 3 weeks? in-between the nodes are other sets of leaf and stem shoots coming out, now do these need as much light as the fan leafs? or more? and when i want to start training them, do i bend the main stem 90 degrees, or the stems coming out from the main shoot? sorry for the questions... but you don't learn if you don't ask right? and something else, what does it mean to have "alternating nodes" and is that when you are supposed to go to the 12/12 flower light cycle? and does anyone know how to post a picture, cause i have some i want to show off, just so you guys/girls know what im talking about... thanx for all the help people. i have read the bible, and the grow guide, and done my research plenty, also read the training journals too, these are just questions i have that either over-read, or missed in the first place. fantasmo out... oh yeah, i don't have any hps, just lots of flouros, can i harvest with this? will it just take longer? i know hps are the ****, but money is tight, does anyone have any suggestions? thank you all for the help

Sounds about normal there. I have encountered very few strains that stink really bad during vegging. ANd they all have been High quality Grass... These shoots you see coming out. Will be like your main top. Training will help these form out more. Yes you will bend your stem at 90 degrees. But a little more than that. Lower than the next internode. Quote:

![]() | hey, thanx for the kind words and answering the ?'s. but how do you post pics? i want to draw a pic and post it or take a pick and do the same.. also, yep they are alternating big time, is that weird for a plant 3 weeks old. i am feeding it 6-9-3 fertilizer, it said that it would help root growth, the leaves feel rough to the touch on top, and soft like satin or silk on the bottom, and they smell alot, geezzz i wish i had a pic also, i am worried about training, i want to start, but am afraid of breaking the main stem, it is 1/4 in thick already and at the base it's pretty strong, i know you start at the top, but don't want stalk to snap... that would suck... flouros are on 24/7, and durring "night time" 12-5 they are under plant lights (flouro) made by g.e.. i think they are for aquariums, cause the light is a soft purple, light blue, i dunno, but i think it offers a better spectrum, plus they are the coldest flouros i have ever purchased.. does anyone know how hot a 250 watt hps getts, i herd 18 inches above the plants, but don't know for sure, and When is the best time to start to flower? do i look at the plant and what its telling me? or am i supposed to force it some way with lighting, etc.? thanx for the help everyone... fantasmo out. -smoke until your bud is gone, but then make sure you right the wrong, cause if you dont its just a waste, relax, sit back, and nug your face...

No problem on answering the noob questions. I have been there and done that. When I use to ask them. No one would answer me. And it would discourage me. So I try to help you noobs as much as possible.. That fert sounds good. Its a little weird that its alternating so young. But some strains grow faster. Are the Known Genetics? Or bag seeds? Because Sativa's take longer in flowering that Indicas. Good indicator is the leaf size. Small slender leaves indicate Sativa. And Large fat fingers are more of a indica trait. About posting pics.. go read this thread https://www.hempcultivation.com/420/...threadid=57697Quote:

whoops, i thought they were alternating, but i was mistaken. i did some research and thougth that nodes that came out between other nodes were "alternating" but thats not the case,,, now correct me if im wrong, but alternatin nodes apear when a node forms, and on the other side, one does'nt, and a little further up it forms.. kind of like a zig, zag.... speaking of zig zag, my moron friend got those papers with out the sticky stuff, and molasas does not burn that well we tried to use it as a "natural" glue" beats tearing pages out of the bible.. heh eh ehe
