I'm trying to get ready for 12/12 in a couple weeks and I was wondering about air circulation during "off" cycle. It seems like as the plants photorespire that it could get stuffy in my closet with the door closed to prevent light from getting in. Does anyone have any opinions as to how many air changes are required at "off" cycle? My exhaust fan only comes on when the temp gets above 76 but when the light goes off there is no heat being generated to prompt the fan to come on, hence stuffiness. Is it ok for them to have maybe just the oscy fan going with no exhaust or should I put a heater in there to raise the temp and cause the exhaust to kick on.

If you can you have a couple of options: One... wire the fan so that its on all the time... or Two... you could wire up a humistat. (same as thermostat, but for humidity) In flowering it's important to have control of your humidity (aka stuffiness). You want to have it as low as possible to keep mold from forming on your buds. But too low, and they will overtranspire leading to nutrient problems. Around 40% constant is good, 50% is fine as long as your air exchange is constant. Bottom line is you have to find a way to exhaust some air during 'lights off'. FewBS | ||

I thought so. I've been workin on it and I think I have an answer. It requires a manual adjustment each day but hey what else have I got to do? My exhaust has a temp control and my humidifier has an unmarked setting. I've turned on the heat in the bedroom to heat the room to 75, then I set the exhaust to come on at 74. Now I just gotta hope the base board electric heat can keep up with the exhaust... Maybe I should put in a small electric heater in the closet, set for around 75, then I wouldn't have to heat the whole bedroom. I'm not sure which method would use more electric. Heating the whole bedroom may give the system more "ummph". But maybe the portable electric unit inside the closet would be the way to go?

The temp seems to be holding at 74 with the exhaust on. humidity can be whatever I want within 10 or so points, depending how many times I have to fill up the tank.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Your temps at night (12/12) can get as low as 55 without to much bad happening to the plants. Most likely it wont get that cool though. Can you add some type of passive air intake and have a oscilating fan going for the dark period?

I will definately have the osc fan going. So far it works to have the electric heat running in the intake room just warmer than the exhaust is set for. This makes the exhaust run continuously. 55 sounds a little chilly. Seems like it would be detrimental. The grow guide says 70-89 I think. Anyone else have an opinion about this nite time temp thing? Thanks for your response highon.

55 probably won't cause the plant to get sick or die, it just might not grow much. I'm just wanting to be as optimal as I possibly can. A bit anal maybe but I just am in love with my girls (hope they're girls anyway).
