Hi all. Okay. I have a female 5 weeks into flower; I'm thinking I have a little over 3 weeks left until harvest. The plant is rootbound and is loosing all of its fan leaves. All the fan leaves up to the upper-middle part of the plant have either died off or are turning yellow. So what I was wondering is will my plant still be ble to finish? The buds are okay in size and still seem to be growing with plenty of trichomes. I have switched the light cycle to 10/14 to hopefully speed up the process. I don't mind if the buds don't get any larger but will the thc still breakdown (trichs goin' from clear, cloudy to amber)? Any feedback will be appreciated.

Shes sucking every drop of nitrogen out of 'em. Keep the faith, keep your water and nutes on schedule for another week or so, flush her good and chop her two weeks later. Least.... that's what I'd do. ![]() milagro

![]() | thanks milagro, and I hope you're right. I know that some of the fan leaves will fall off later in flowering but these started turning yellow around the second week of flowering, is this normal?

I began to get the yellow fan leaves in the second to third week of flowering during my last grow. These leaves were all near the bottom but working their way up. All during the flowering duration they continued to die from bottom on up. I personally am not a big worrier about a plant being rootbound. 'Course it would depend on the size pot you use, but if it is reasonable, it probably is OK. I would worry more that the salts may have accumulated to a greater degree than desired and are shutting down the uptake of nutes. In your case even if this was a factor, if you believe your plant will finish in three weeks, like I said before; go another week, flush her well, continue her on just water for the two week coast to harvest. Good luck! ![]() milagro

Yes. By flushing almost all of the salts will be dissolved clearing the way for better uptake. I like to do it just before I begin 12/12 so as to clear the vegging nutes to make way for the flowering nutes. In your case I'm recommending it because you are close enough to finish that you'll want to flush to remove any and all chemicals that remain in the plant. Makes for much better taste and smokability. Only use water for the remaining two weeks til timber. The fan leaves will continue to yellow and die at a great rate then. This advice holds only if you are sure to harvest in the normal 55 days you are now planning on. If you follow it, you'll pretty much be committed to chop in three weeks. milagro

![]() ![]() | THC420 - i like your username anyway, my first grow the same thing happened and i started worrying til i read up here. yes, it is perfectly normal for them to yellow and fall off! my second plant is about 5 or 6 weeks into flowering and the lower fan leaves are gone! as the other posters said they start yellowing at the bottom and move on up the plant. you should be in fine shape - enjoy ![]()
