cool_alexis is starting to vegetate.
Unhappy i have some problems...

thank's for reading and posting..

what is the best way (and faster) when you have some seeds from unknown strain (likely a sativa) to find otu if it is a she or a dude..
i use the "plate and hand towel" method for germination , then a good soil and a lot of fluorocent tube and bulb type of lights.
until now i have grown up till now 6 plants.
unfortunantly now i have 4 and as i see i have more dudes...
my dreams are gone so i seek a method that would be faster at least untill they show their sex.

You can't trick "Mother Nature", as the margarine ad said.

Well, I think you have to grow a plant that is mature enough to put out preflowers. A lot of people veg as long as they plan and then put their plants into the flowering stage. Then they start looking for preflowers. My two plants showed preflowers at 30 days from taproot appearance, over a month before I decided to flower them because they were finally growing alternate branches.

There is no surefire way to predict sex quicker than waiting for preflowers. My two plants were identical looking in every way, same height, same amount of stretch between nodes, same amount of secondary growth. Yet one was a male and the other was a female. So you can't even use the old adage that the male grows taller and with less secondary growth than the female before they start to show preflowers.

Grow out the seeds until they are mature enough for cuttings, then take cuttings from each and make sure you label each one to refer back to the parent plant. Flower the cuttings after rooting to see which are female and which are male. Then if you have any males pull the corresponding seeded plant which you labeled earlier.

You've got some good advice. There's no way to know if you've only got the beans to go by. There's no way to look at them to see if the spots tell you anything, and the whole leaf display thing is pretty much crap too. Males and females are identical in every way, because the plant doesn't sexually differentiate until the last 2 weeks of veg before alterating nodes form. The chances are that 50% of the beans you plant will come up male, so all you can do is play the numbers.

At this point, you can try to force flowers by inducing a 12/12 cycle on one branch (by using either a darkening bag over the branch or by poking the branch through a hole into another chamber). These work with varying degrees of success - especially if you're forgetful like me

Good luck
