man, there is no way you're going to get a single correct answer to this question. multiple answers will be correct...hell, all of the answers could be correct, even if they're polar opposites.

i'd reccomend you read the paper (yes i said paper) on whether or not fan leaves should be trimmed and decide for yourself what will work in your environment. LINK HERE

completely ignoring the fact that i should be asking you about what you've done in veg and what your setup is...it is OK to trim lower fan leaves during flowering. the time you'll want to do this is in early in flowering. earlier the better. prioritize the fan leaves before you prune - look for unhealthy first.

"If you decide to trim your fan leaves, one should always do it by clipping the petiole about halfway between the base of the fan leaf and the stem/branch."
^that quote is probably the only clear cut advice you can get on the subject

hi there,

many people trim the lower branches/leaves (myself included) that dont get much light.. It improves yield by giving more energy to the buds above that are recieving better lighting.

Having said that however there are people who believe that the lower leaves are used up during flush as nutrients for the plant - take them away and you'll have less nutrients during flush...

So its up to you
In any case im about to go do some trimming myself

I'm growing these in soil. During veggie.. I already trim lower branch the same time i top it too a week before floweriing. NOw they have all grown back. some r higher than other. I'm into the second week of flowering. and was wondering If i should do one more trimming of the lower branch because My friend alway trim during the second week and the fifth week in flowering. I read that it slow down the growth. So i just want an opinion whether I should trim or not during flowering. Thank everyone for the reply. Happy Growing

i reccomend NOT to trim during flower but it is ok to trim the lowest leaves during flower...but only the loweest leafs. if you trim during flower the plant has to stop its main focus on the buds and help heal the cut wounds. i would just let it do its natural thing. this also takes energy away from the buds to help heal the cuts.

I agree with everyone that says not to trim. I thought it would be a good idea to trim any leaf blocking a bud site, terrible idea because now i have little terd buds. Read that link for sure it's all true to not trim in my opinion

Think of the plant as a factory that runs on solar energy...

now take away a few of the solar panels.... shitty production!
