I grow partner had a friend stop by today that that has been growing in dirt for a while. Next cycle he said he is going to grow each plant in a small bucket (don't know exact size) and a few weeks before harvesting his plants he's going to transplant each plant into a large bucket (guessing 3-5 gal.) He said that since the roots have been restricted, once they are transplanted into a bucket that can support the root system, the plants will explode with growth during the most vital time in the plants cycle. He CLAIMS that the end result will be an increase in yield compared to growing the plants in a large bucket for the whole cycle. This really didn't make much sence to me, i was always told that thr root system should never be restricted in growth. My grow partner told me the guy really knows what he is taling about...I figured if it were true someone else would have heard of this.

![]() ![]() | There was a grower on overgrow dot com that said the same thing, he had the pictures to prove its true. His name was "bushy older grower." I think he has his own web site you can find if you google it, he sells seed or did sell seed. Anyway there is some truth to it, I grow more plants in smaller planters and do well myself. more of a sea of green style. I found at harvest that 5-6 gallon pots were a waste, there was little roots using the space and I dont smoke the roots anyway. My plants from clone dont live but 70 days +/- after being cut so large planters are out of the question. 1.5-2.5 gallon pots rock big time, I dont need any bigger than that and like the yeilds the way they are. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose.

![]() | sounds like a good way to conserve space. It would also mke the plants easy to move around if needed. I'm in the process of upgrading my hydro setup, maybe I'll also throw some clones in some small pots with organic grow blend or something. I found out that Bushy Old Grower owns a seed bank "BOG Seeds" that is in Canada. I read that he has been growing indoors in the mountains of Montana for over thirty years (pre-HID lighting). He has about ten strains that i found for sale most of them created by him. He also has a grow guide for sale, probobly has his small pot method in there...It says it has secrets for increasing THC and yield?! Bonanza Of Green $17.95

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | "the new cannabis grow bible" by BOG is the best grow book I have ever read. I've been looking at getting the bonanza book one of these days. He's a living legend in the grow world. His posts on OG were the bomb!

BOG seemed to like to transplant more than me, I read many of his huge threads and he grew BIG plants. Too bad he does not post here himself. ![]()
