![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Doesn't everyone know that the whole of this thread is bunk? The drying upside down is for real but that talk about roots and boiling and sap and such .... it's a joke. Have fun. Peace- Outdoors ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | No its not, boiling the roots is for real, dont you know heat rises, the heat warms the THC in the roots and makes it flow up into the buds, thus making the buds swell up larger After you are done you can eat the roots, they are really tasty, but last time I bit down on a hydroton pellet and broke a tooth ![]() So like, if I take the stem and let it dry and use it for a straw to drink my soda through, will it get me high? ![]()

However, if you whittle that stem down to the size of toothpicks, and chew on 'em, boy howdy! Does that ever put you over the top! Try it, you'll like it and it'll clean your teeth! BTW, sorry to hear about that hydroton pellet. Ouch! That's one of the main reasons I shy away from the "water sports". milagro

...this thread has strayed off topic! We're talking about the advantage/disadvantage of hanging buds upside down to dry, so we should try to get it back to it's original discussion. ![]() I'm a bit fascinated at milagro's theory of the 'Christmas tree' stands for his plants! Seems it WOULD promote better airflow around the buds, although I've never had a problem with our drying process. Next harvest, I might try it on a small scale with individual colas just to see how it affects dry time and ease of manicuring.

![]() | I took a 2x4, about 3 feet long, and drilled a whole bunch of holes in it, various sizes, to hold any possible combination of stem sizes. A short piece of 1x2 nailed across the end to keep it from tipping over, and I'm ready to try when the crop comes in. At least I can dry part of it this way and compare them.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hello Everyone! I read this entire thread from the beginning and (lmao). There were so many references to flowing THC, syrups and roots, that my funny bone was tickled to the extent that I felt the need to contribute my own funny response i.e. "Who Are You Trying to Kid?" in this thread. Thus was born the Christmas Tree method. I don't really dry my buds this way (I hang 'em like everyone else, and use a screen/tray I built to dry the nugs). There are no design plans for the stands in the construction section either. I never intended to confuse or mis-inform anyone, I simply thought I was writing tongue-in-cheek. Anyhow that's the truth and I now realise that the reality of the situation is that this site is here to inform, and I am doing you all a disservice by telling tall tales. I humbley apologise. However, perhaps sending my post to the Marijuana Theories section might do some good, because poon has a point; that air flowin' around 'em just might do some good! I really will try to inform as well as (or instead of) trying to get a laugh in the future. Peace. milagro

...and YES, (looking at Keefhead's post) it seems I'm not the only one who bought your post as truth. However, I will still try a coupla test buds next harvest to see what effect the better airflow affords our buds. The idea of the individual buds drooping 'back' on the stem to allow better circulation around them appeals to me...and makes me wonder if (even if completely by accident) it might be a solution for those who live in climates that promote problems using the up-side down method. Plus, with the larger leaves drooping BACK away from the buds instead of right on top of them, manicuring COULD even be easier. You big milagro!

And I bit the hook hard. However, I have to admit that the idea may have some merit in some situations. I'm gonna try it, now that I have a "stand", it may show some value. But from now on I'm gonna watch that "Milagro" character. ![]()

Actually it really does sound interesting... making a simple setup like Keefhead suggested might make drying smoother (as mentioned, having the fan leaves away from the bud instead of touching it would likely reduce the chance of mold, especially with the added air flow) AND make manicuring easier by having those fan leaves sprawled out, ready to plucked off, instead of curled around or in the bud, needing to be picked out.
