Hi. I read on another site that hanging buds upside down while drying is a total crock. Resins do not "flow" down to the tips it stated, and basically you could dry it laying in a draw (just turn it occasionally to evenly dry it)

So whats the deal with that? Hanging upside down is a myth?

Indeed it is a myth that thc "flows" when you hang your plant. The THC is in the trichome heads (did i spell that right?) and stays put. I will still hang my plant in a week when its done, but just for convience purposes. I'm not 100% sure if there is any other benefit to it.

when you hang the buds you dont have to turn them over daily, cause they arent against anything and the air can flow freely around the whole bud. then you shouldnt have to worry about it drying unevenly

I don't think anyone hangs them upside down because they think it makes their buds any better or improves the potency in any way, I think people do it because its an easy and efficient way to dry buds and it allows you to not have to turn the buds by hand like thc-elf said...

I do it because as they are drying upside down, all the fan leaves point toward the tip of the bud. That makes it easier for me to manicure it later.

I disagree LittleBong. Ive actually read/heard people say "hey hang it upside down so the resins flow into the bud yada yada".

Just wanted to see what the majority said. I have heard so many myths and bum data in my days, im just glad a site like this exists so i can extract fiction from reality.

as was mentioned a couple posts back, resin/thc does not move around the plant. it is stationed in the trichomes, ya....


I do my trim wet, and hang dry.
It allows way more airflow, and doesnt take up as much space as lets say, a screen rack.
Probably has more pros, but....... ........oh huh.....wut the.....oops......

...of the 'traveling thc' myth, is that you should BOIL the roots! As it dislodges the thc down there to allow it to travel faster to the tops! Like it was maple friggin' syrup or something!
