Hey Dankman420- I used to do this with some of my buds about every harvest. I did it a little different though.. I would completely dry mine, then soak it. Mine never smelled foul and had a sweet smell when finished. I never could tell if it made the bud more potent, but it was easier to smoke. Good day, Islanddreams ps. The best curing method I ever tried was to take a wad of freshcut bud and wrap it in newspaper, stuff it under my mattess for about a week. The 1st time I did it it came out so sweet smelling and I never could get it right after that...mold.

![]() ![]() ![]() | i just changed the water tonight and it doesnt smell sweet anymore. i wouldnt say it smells bad, but its no where close to how it used to smell. there also used to be a layer of oil on the surface, and when i change the water and put the bud back in the water you can immediatley see the oil rise to the surface. well tonight is the first time ive put the bud into the fresh water and no oil has floated to the surface. i hope this means its just about done. im thinking about cutting a bud later tonight to have a sample that has been submerged for only 5 days to see if there is a huge difference in the end result ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | WOW !!!!!! i took a sample at 6 days today and let it dry out for close to 2 hours in front of a fan for half the time and in front of a hair dryer for the other half. then when it was dry i smoked it out of my pipe and was astonished at the results. for being picked only 6 days ago it was surprisingly smooth, not as smooth as i think it could be so im not pulling the entire bud out of the cup tonight, ill probably check it tommorrow too before i dry the entire bud out. i do have to say that it doesnt make the bud any more potent than the traditional method, but in no way any worse. i would definatly have to say that i am a true believer in this curing method and i will be doing it more often. check out the pictures, ive never seen ashes that white before, especially from a bud picked only six days ago. the ashes from the same crop dryed and cured for a total of four weeks are no where close to burning that pure. so for all you non-believers out there [b][i]dont knock it till youve tried it[b][i], i hope this thread helps people out there to finally make the decision to go ahead and give water curing a chance, you never know what the results are gonna be. ![]() ![]() ![]() | the entire bud is currently drying out in the closet, i decided to go ahead and start letting dry around noon today. hopefully it will be dry some time tonight. im only going to use the hair dryer later on if its not dry by around 10:00. oh yeah, i just got finished smoking a bowl of the glass jar cured bud, that if i remember right is close to 4 months since harvesting, and i really noticed the biggest difference when i was 3/4 done smoking. the water cured bud from last night was smooth untill the entire bowl was finished and the convetionally cured bud starts getting pretty rough on my throat about 3/4 thru the bowl. this has definatly been a surprise because i was a little skepticle about this idea when i started, but im sure glad i did it. i added a pic of the ashes of the jar cured bud as well as some pics of my newest crop after getting trimmed up real nice Attachment 187742 Attachment 187743 Attachment 187744
