Airflow Harvester

If you need a way to dry your crop that doesn't include hanging up a clothesline, I use a 31 gallon tote with a fan. I call it an Airflow Harvester. It drys buds for up to three plants in about one week.

I've used it once and am very happy with it. But it was smelly. So, yesterday I added a carbon filter for oder control.

The racks were full from my last crop. This is six plants. Not enough room for trim though.

The smoke seems smooth to me. But I'm a novice smoker so take that evaluation with a grain of salt. Actually, I hope someone will comment that this technique may, or may not, result in harsh smoke. Thanks for bringing it up.

How about throwing in a silica drying pack to dry faster? It might prevent mold if the humidity is high.

Steamer1968: Thanks for your comments. . . Although I am not sure about the salutation. Regarding the carbon filter, I installed one over my growroom exhaust fan. It significantly reduces odor coming from the room. That is why I added it to the harvester. We will know in about five weeks when I put it into service one more time.

BushMaster: I found that drying for six or seven days in the harvester was fast enough. I turned the buds daily. Mold never developed. Removing moisture via a silica gell seems to be a reasonable mechanism for speeding drying. I haven't tried it.

Just a quick question, not really relatd to the drying mechanism, but how much finished product is that on those trays, looks almost like 1/2 lb. I have 6 plants growing now, and am trying to estimate how much space I'm going to need when harvest time rolls around.
