i think still that there may be a chunk of validity to the 'amber trichomes' harvesting method... in the second one of those nice macros in pontoons post, you may not at first see amber crystals, but if you blow up the picture a whole bunch, i thinkit's possible to see several different cases where there are clear and cloudy/amber trichome heads right nest to each other, also, in a book called 'the cannabible' there are some very nice photos which show all sorts of buds with all sorts of trichomes, and hairs. How come no one's spoken up about having used the trichome method theirselves? I can't wait for someone to figure out how to turn their trichomes purple when they're ripe ![]() phrogg ![]()

Definately go late if you want couchlock. I had some early samples and now understand what a sativa buzz can be like, but the main colas were pure coma tokens. The flowering period was actually 9 weeks, maybe a couple of days longer than that. (My timer stuck, so I was 24/7 for ??? days at the end.) People have said it's the strongest they've had, so I guess I got something right. (Northern Lights by Nirvana.) A month of couchlock is interesting. I've come up with some great grow room designs, but haven't done diddly squat about building one of them. ![]() Thanks for all your help.

![]() ![]() ![]() | I waited for a scattering of amber trichomes on the last crop of Blue Moonshine, and I am sorry I did. I had just gotten proper magnification and was psyched.... go figure. I waited and waited and saw no amber, then one day there it was- probably 20-30% amber trichomes. Hooray! Not. The stuff is so couch lock that you just sleep. Whenever we smoke it we seriously just nod off totally unable to rise fom the furniture (or floor). We don't eat (because I am unable to operate the stove) and can barely work the TV remote. No conversation, no following a plotline in a movie- just zombiefication. I have another clone of this same variety finishing up now- I saw no amber trichs yesterday, and will be out there at first light today to catch it. I've had about enough of sitting like a lump.

![]() | I'm trying to learn "Paint" because I can't draw too good and anyway I haven't installed the scanner. (Couchlock. )Here's a couple of ideas. The first one is too much production for me, but I'd like to see the second one built. Based on the "Cage": Build a false floor with swimming pool tiles and a drain in the middle. That's the waste of "Drain to Waste" taken care of. Make individual columns from black PVC drainpipe (square section for easier fabrication.) Flange at the bottom (so they don't fall over. ) and 3" holes cut where you want the plants. The plantholders are short 3" dia. pipes cut 45' at each end and fitted with a backing plate made from column offcuts. They can be plugged and unplugged without their clay pebbles falling out. (This part of production could be tedious, haven't figured it out yet.)Anyway, the plantholders are separate so you only have to find one columns worth of uniform clones. Stick the plants (which stay in their plantholders) in the column and fill it with clay pebbles. Move it into the flowering room where 4x 250 HIDs hang the same as a cage grow. As the colums are freestanding you can "sqeeze up" the smaller plants and give more room to the big 'uns. Individual feeding shouldn't be too hard to figure, (24 thin tubes hanging from the ceiling maybe?) and the freestanding columns idea could be adapted for personal growers by having just a few columns and using 1 or 2 lights with reflectors (even flos maybe) Based on someones' idea that was based on the cage: Hang the string of lights fairly close to the corner of a room. Install "Dexion" type columns to each wall at about 3' from the lights. Make shelves any shape and size that suits and fix each one securely to a slot-in bracket. 6" pots of clay pebbles. The shelves can be positioned to wherever suits. (Feed and drain details to follow. ) This could also be done with quadrant shelves and not all the hight has to be used. Not too efficient, but I think it would look lovely and nutes are cheap compared to the time consumed by other systems. That's enough for now ![]() Anyone know what software I need to draw and animate growrooms? "How an engine works" sort of thing.
