Been workin' on this thread for over 3 hours, tonight! Didn't even realize it. Not to mention the time I spent taking pictures. I do that anyways, though. For my own benefit. Very useful to go back and look at things in the past, some times. Lotsa time lately, I s'pose. Plus, these digital cameras are a blast! Seriously, though. I enjoy typing replies to my own messages. Really. But do hope someone finds this info useful. I know I spent quite a few years perfecting these methods. If done properly, these procedures will improve the taste of any bud. Try it, you'll see. Also, don't forget to find my hidden secret ingredient! Where's Waldo?

Everything's been cut and manicured. The colas are still a little dank in the middle, so I'm going to let them air out a bit more before I seal them up to cure. Everything has been weighed and measured. Here's the picture specs: 36 grams, crunchy dry, in the whiskey falls box 30 grams, crunchy dry, in each air tight storage container AND 162 grams, decent smoke dry, total for the colas Plus, 38 grams, crunchy dry, resinous leaves to make water hash with! That's a 258 gram yield of great smoke. And, from experience, after processing there will be about 3.5 grams of 73u Bubble Hash. Oh yeah. I might loose about another 5 grams of water weight on the colas. More than 8 ounzes off a single supercropped plant. It can be done, folks. Here's proof. This is a low yielder, too, when compared with Big Bud or SWW.

... once again. Here's the final shot for "Harvest & Drying 101"; Maybe I'll do one on curing if there is enough interest. It was kinda fun. I've got some great close-ups of nugs and colas... Here's a final take away of the colas. They'll be sealed up, for curing, in 2 more days. 13 inches ... whatta stretch.

About time someone did a comprehensive pictorial of harvesting and drying. Excellent contribution! Molasses is the secret, am I right? Love the headline with your name. Delta and cuts in the same line. ROFL ![]() 8 ozs per plant, awesome! whats your light? How much can your full flower room yield? later Smokin

... it was perfect for this thread. I started growing in the early 90's, too. Been isolated so long, head bursting with info, I just needed an outlet. This site is great for me. The community here is so active and (refreshingly) welcome. Glad to be able to contribute. Thanks. I use stricly 600W lamps. Alternating, stationary, HPS and MH every other one. Room yield is more than enough. You guys call it supercropping. I like that. I've always just called it training. It's the only way to achieve high yields like that. I have also learned to refrain from topping at all. Scritly just keep training her the way you want. Untopped plants produce higher yields. We must respect the law somewhat and understand that there are degrees of felony and the style you grow can affect your fate. Look at Peter McWilliams and Todd McCormick. SOG is overrated and you can get in BIG trouble for tons of plants like that. Federal Law. Safer (and, IMO, a much better finished product) to have less 'big' plants. Although, I never let anything get over 30 inches tall. I hate adjusting all the lights. I get lazy every once in a while and burn a top. That's about it. I can't even imagine why people wouldn't want 1 1/2 inch trunks instead of 1/4 inch stems sticking out of the medium. Whatever. SOG and ScrOG colas are puny. (Who's that gonna raize?) Molassis, yes. I planted that to see if people were actually reading. (I'm not sure if you count, you always seem to read everything!) But, that's only half of it. The other is mixed with citric acid. 3 days before harvest and then a final Clearex flush 24 hours before it's moved out from under the lights for another 2 days. Let the plant store some extra Mg, Ca, P, and the ever debatable additional dextrose and citric acid while it's stressing in the dark. Before the long drying period. (There is still cellular activity within the plant for weeks after harvest. A whole other thread, though...) It definitely affects the taste. I'm not sure which I like better; with or without. My experiences have proven that it does increase yield a bit, too. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone though. Especially a novice. Only something to experiment with once you've got everything else working. Hey, I have a question about this site. Stoned, I spelled Harvest wrong in the thread title 'Havest & Drying 101', Duh. How can I go back and fix it?

He he, youve got like 17 hours to go back and edit it, tho I dont know if you can edit a thread title. I dont think you can. It just comes back as a bold headline above the post. I think. Theres as real long thread in training techniques (its at the top now, ironically enough) calles Super Cropping that has links to the two articles in High Times where a grower named NYPD details the style of growing we do. Its where Ive heard of it, anyway. I guess tomato growers have been doing it for decades. Ive done the training only end of it also, tieing the tip to the base. I like keeping the grow tip as well, if only for aesthetics. Lately Ive grown lazy and just top them and be done with it. Actually, for the last six months or so Ive been working almost exclusively with flowering clones, trying to determine if a few things Ive heard and theorized about them are true. Ive had some telling results..... I totally agree about SOG, and in fact youll be hard pressed to find any in here that do a true SOG. I also avoid Scrog just cuz I dont like the permanence of the setup (excluding modular scrog) Yup, 30" is max for me as well, my flower areas only 42" high with my 400 HPS. Hey, nice to have someone to talk to about this! ![]() later Smokin
