... and into a dark corner or closet. Wait 24-48 Hours. Verify peak maturity. She's lookin' great. The resin glands (trichomes) have just turned a nice amber color and about 45-50% of the pistals have already turned. (Many are still white, though ... not to worry!)

I actually saw under the soil while pulling directly up until I pull the roots right out of the soil. Gently, though, don't want to loose control and drop the whole thing and crush those beautiful nugs inside! (Really, it's happened to me, I hate touching anything but the stem until it has dried enough that it wont bruise the flowers.)

Here's the (rough) cut. So hard to see her suffering ... bah ... cycle of life. Just like chickens and cows ... they exist for me to consume. Without my consumption they most likely would not have existed. Better to exists and die than not to exist at all, I say. Yeah, I can rationalize it. Shoot, I'm worm food, right? Mary J Blige ... she can really sing, can't she? Sends chills down my spine. Didn't mean to offend any vegans, sorry if I did. Can't help it. Just the way I see things. Peace.

Don't touch anything but the stems. DO NOT REMOVE THE FAN LEAVES OR CUT ANY OTHER PART OF THE PLANT! Just hang her upside down in a cool dark place. Keep the humidity as low as possible.

... and I had to seperate a branch from the main stem because the cola on top was so huge it was clogging airflow to the center of the plant. Didn't want her to mold. Experienced that one before. Sucks ... Check for mold every day. Especially if it's humid outside. Try to keep the humidity under 45 The temperature around 75F The big sun leaves should be completely wilted, now. When the biggest leaves, WITHOUT RESIN GLANDS, are crunchy to the touch. You can start removing them. DO NOT REMOVE THE SUN LEAVES, OR STEMS, THAT HAVE RESIN GLANDS. No matter how big and ugly they are. You want these to mature a few more days because you're going to save them to make water hash! About another week we can start curing!

... break more branches off the main stem. Over the course of the next 2-3 days, all the large (non-resinous) sun leaves should have also been removed. DO NOT REMOVE THE BUDS FROM THE BRANCHES OR STEMS. At this point, I relocate everything from the preflower room to a utility closet. They're starting to stink up the place. Time to do my laundry, anyway. I've been saving it up for 3 weeks; Just so I could run the dryer for 3 days straight! This helps drop the humidity in the new space and covers up the smell with fabric softener. Works great. Mmmm ... musky grape the smell is everywhere. No Yankee Candle's or cheap potpourie this week (no pun intended ... right).

... you can really start to see the buds taking shape. By this time, most (>90%) of the pistals have turned. Flowers have shrunk considerably and become more dense. Resin glands have mushroomed and are significantly more swollen than a week ago. Things are shaping up!

on Day 8. I've begun to remove the largest fan leaves that have resin glands present. I save these (not like the discarded larger fan leaves) in a large tupperware for making water hash. (I'm not going to get into that in this thread. Just trust me, save those leaves. You'll want them later and you can store them for a long time in a cool, dry, dark place.) Notice anything interesting in the pic? Can you find Waldo?
