I like to dry plants in their entirety, hanging the plant whole.

I feel the leaves encapsulate the buds and allow them to cure a little bit while drying on the line. The plants dry slower which is also beneficial to the curing process. This will enhance the aroma of the buds.

Just have to be careful of mold when drying whole plants. Keep an eye out.

In any case not to worry. After a few weeks in jars and they will be the smelliest buds you've ever known.

If it's grass you smell rather than mold, your ok. Not all terpenes (the smelly stuff in cannabis) smell like skunk, lemon, spice or etc...

Give a week or two of drying ( and maybe a week of curing) and the grass smell will go away. That's the chlorophyll in the leaves decomposing.

discingolfer is right on the money, the grass smell is chlorophyl. In two weeks it will be almost gone, 30 days and you will forget you ever had the smell. Welcome to the world of drying & curing.
