bud smells like grass

ok this is always the hardest part for me i just harvest 2 days ago cut all the bigger fan leafs left the little one i have goot air circulation my buds where all cloudy when i choipped them down temp is about 78 degrees so i dont know why my stuff is smellin like grass could it be the little leafs smelling like that and i have to wait till cureing???

I like to dry plants in their entirety, hanging the plant whole.

I feel the leaves encapsulate the buds and allow them to cure a little bit while drying on the line. The plants dry slower which is also beneficial to the curing process. This will enhance the aroma of the buds.

Just have to be careful of mold when drying whole plants. Keep an eye out.

In any case not to worry. After a few weeks in jars and they will be the smelliest buds you've ever known.

If it's grass you smell rather than mold, your ok. Not all terpenes (the smelly stuff in cannabis) smell like skunk, lemon, spice or etc...

Give a week or two of drying ( and maybe a week of curing) and the grass smell will go away. That's the chlorophyll in the leaves decomposing.

discingolfer is right on the money, the grass smell is chlorophyl. In two weeks it will be almost gone, 30 days and you will forget you ever had the smell. Welcome to the world of drying & curing.

My first grow was like that but it didnt smell like grass it kinda smelled like dried banana peels and didnt even smell like weed tho.but my plants a lemon variety which did smell like lemonade during flower and a grapfruit aswell. i did the cut first method rather than drying the whol plant. mmmmm hope i dont get hat problem again
