Yo Happy Harvest fellow growers! hey..was wondering if anyone here harvests in stages...or picks.leaving some thinner branches to thicken..up. I was wondering....at what point is it worth it ...or not..leave some lower branches / flowers for a second pick...to fill out a tad more. I simply forgot...have done it before.it's a little bit of a hassle because we risk get windburn from santa ana winds and we are fighting worms bad way this year... well...can some one show me a pic of what will / wont have a chance of filling out if left a few weeks...or do yall' just yannk the whole darn plant BTW the ladies are outside! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well I've seen the top of some plants become ripe much quicker than the rest of the plant. You can cut that off and the rest of the plant develops at its own pace. Can take weeks. In such a case it would NOT be worth yanking the whole plant if the majority is not ready. On the flip side ... you could have a huge plant and most of its buds may be ripe, but you may also have a bunch of tiny buds that are not ready yet. In such a case you could just cut off all the big bud branches and hopefully the smaller buds get bigger. There may be a down side to doing that though considering that the plant thrives from its leaves and if most of its growth is removed ... it could wither away. Correct me if I’m wrong anyone. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ^what he said. Also we like to take the really really heavy tops earlier before they can mold up. Especially if your growing near the 'fogline'. Some folks call it "Headhunting". All those little buds you see on the bottom?...well there looong gone as soon as they appear and we realize they won't amount to anything solid. My favorite thing is to 'Lollipop' most plants and end up with all grade A ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | SkwirlGirl, What do you mean by "there looong gone as soon as they appear"? Are you saying that the small ones are just about worthless or they will not develope any further? Just curious because I was wondering if they would have any substance to them.

realblondie--I'm not one for harvesting to much in stages, and not much of an outdoor grower, but if the tops are done, you could very well harvest them, and let the lower buds get more time. Kind of depends on alot of stuff, the weather you will be expecting, how far along they are, the security of getting them, and how bad you need bud. Happy Harvesting Alleycat

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | After cutting the tops off the lower growth which is already moving slow due to low light is stunted further taking sometimes 2 - 3 weeks longer to finish up. I've done it indoors before but not out. Good luck ![]()
