Now this is my first time harvest. I'm cutting my first of five plants in a few days, and starting the drying process. After drying is done I plan to cure for 10 days. I hear of people curing for OVER A YEAR! Here are my questions: WHAT is curing? What does curing provide (potency etc.)? What is actually happening to the bud? On a deeper level, what causes the buds to benefit from just sitting in a jar? Why does this happen? Are there any methods people use to speed up curing process? Are certain strains more susceptable to curing than others (meaning, do some cure faster than others)? How much better does it make the bud in a ratio to the time it takes to cure? Thanks for any advice.

I think the biggest thing is the chlorophyll breaking down improves the taste.

![]() ![]() | I turn the lights off and hold water for the last 1-2 days, to help get rid of any planty taste (by stopping photosynthesis) and to help the buds dry quicker. Curing is just a continued way to remove the planty taste?
