hey thanks man, I really appreciate everyones help. My main problem is I have so many plants that are flowering and only 2 are on the same schedule and I'm getting nervous about when to harvest when I have to keep an eye on all of them waiting for each to be ready.

not to mention my veg room is way too full with flowering candidates waiting for their spot in the flowering room anyways,

I'm quite interested in this now.. will my bud really swell up in the next week to make a significant difference?

it wasn't so much giving up the high I was worried about, it's more of harvesting too late. I read that the trichomes/hairs keep browning once harvested. I was afraid if I harvested too late I would have ruined the whole thing

Nope no worries, theres people that have taken it way past harvest day with little loss, and the old rule of thumb is "harvest when 80% of the hairs are brown" how many hairs are brown in your better judgment?

And at the same time, you will have a good all around high if you harvest now, so your not losing either way,,,,, its a tough decision but you gotta make it Good luck

Get a jewlers loupe or magnifying glass. I used to think It had to do with the hairs which it does not. I used to harvest when there was a great majority of hair red. Then I found out about looking at the trichomes, so I harvested when about 1/3 or less hairs were red, but the trich's were 25%clear, 50%cloudy, 25% dark. And what do you know after the cure all my hairs turned red or orange....
Mind you those % figures are approximations. When you start doing it you realize its kinda a judment thing but you get better at it.
Dont go by the hairs or you might miss your kinda high....

if you have binoculars, it does work if you turn them around. I questioned it, got no answer, and tried it.

it works, you just have to get it reeeeally close to the weed.

but I assume you already have a way of checking. so is that just the main cola with 40%? you say some spots have less.

I'd give it another week, even if it doesn't fatten a lot, they'll get harder.

I'd give it at least a week. strains are given an exstimated date of finish, but there are so many variables that could change that slightly. a week or even 2 off is not crazy.

on the otherside, if you need the room and can't get around it, chop em I say.

I would hold off till the you get 1/3 of the tri's start to cloud up

just take a little more time and relaxe it will all work it sound like 1-2 weeks

I have a microscope (the cheap one from radioshack) it does 60x - 100x. I understand the trichomes are more important to knowing peak harvest time, However I don't believe the hairs should be disregarded either. I am looking at everything at this point, trichomes, hairs, dates ect. I would think a strong magnifying glass would be a lot easier than the microscope though... it can be a real pain. Do they actually make them up to 60x?

I def need the room.. but I don't want to sell my self short as you guys have said. Making the harvest farther away can only benefit me as I will be able to flush a little more.

I don't believe I have anymore clear trichomes that I can see, everything is cloudy and then a bit amber. However I will check again tonight when the lights come on. Thanks Big

1 week I have... 2 weeks I don't. My veg room is exploding with hempys that are crawling up the walls. I should of stuck to soil something has to get out of there soon, but with the Holidays I don't really have time to harvest anyways.


so I will check the trichomes and the hairs tonight and try to come up with an estimate.
