too dry what now?

So over dried the harvest (damn, that dehumidifier did the trick...too well!). So question is what do I do now? I've heard of the put a leaf of lettuce in each jar trick. Would I then try to cure it? Sort of a drag I was hoping this would be a good harvest. Will it still be quality?

hey man..
try not to use a dehumidifier next time.. Your looking at an average of 10 days (plant size and environmental conditions cause differences) of dry time.. Natural drying helps with taste and potency

.. As for now you can use a fresh leaf to add some humidity, a dampened cotton ball, orange peel.. things like that.. but you will want to check on it often... Watch for mold

Good luck man!

Some times when that happens to me I place the open jars in a room that RH its around 80% and they get soft and moist after 3-4 days.
The only problem is, yes, quality goes down a bit after the buds are over dried.
To me it happens when buds dry in 4-5 days in a room that has 40% RH.
The best drying level of humidity for me is at 50% for 6 days and then in for cure.

yeah well, shucks. At first the humidity in the room was like 66%. Posted another thread and judging by the feedback decided to pony up the money for a dehumidifier. Brought the humidity in the room down to about half of that. A mistake as now I'm looking at a bunch of crispy stuff So unless I can salvage some quality out of this batch I'm down 200 bucks for the dehumidifier that I don't need . Also the lions share is intended as medicine for some seriously sick people so feel like I'm letting them down. shucks.

take a really steamy shower and let the jars sit in there. close up the jars before you leave the room. also, get a very fine mist spray bottle, hold it high above jars, spray over every jar with just one squirt. shouldnt get any drops of water, only mist!

Wow that's alot on a dehumidifier man, I went and got some of those "Damp Rid" buckets to lower my humidity. Hope you saved the receipt so you can take that thing back.

you might want to check out the posting guidlines I don't believe talk of "trading" is allowed.

Good luck to you mate

I was told by a friend to put oranges sliced up in a zip-lock bag with them for a few day's, they seem to soak up some of the moisture.
I tried it and it worked okay for me, didn't mold up or anything but I did put it in freezer after. I don't know how this would work for large quantities.

Hi all. I let the rooms humidity return to 70% and let it get cold. This worked wonders and I now have quality medicine with a good amount of moisture.

a cigar humidifier works wonders on overly dry bud. a friend gifted me one. put a few drops of water on the surface and attach to the side of bag, jar, container and they should be moister in about 4-6 hours. 24-48hrs is the maximum i would leave it in as to not get too moist or any rot.

they can be had for a few quid.
