Arrow Vacuum Seal
permalink

I have some buds that were dried for 12 days and have been curing for 2 weeks. I bought a vacuum sealing machine (the bag kind) I was wondering when is a safe time to vacuum seal them. They're dry no doubt (unfortunately I think I aired them too much during the curing process ) but I noticed some people cure for 2 weeks and others cure for up to 6 months and I want to get an idea of when I can vacuum seal these buds for storage.

thanks guys

i hate crushed trichomes. call me picky. but one of the reasons i grow is to get weed that is not smashed in any way. i would much rather put them in jars. and maybe seal the jars up if youd like. id say you could store it after 2 weeks of jar "burping" just to be safe.

I find when to vaccum seal buds depends on how dry they are - and mine always go into jars. After the plant has been hanging to dry - about 11 days average - I put them in jars & burp the jars until the bud is the dryness I want. Could be two weeks, could be 30 days - it just depends.

Once the buds are dry enough, the I vac seal them in jars.

I vacuumed sealed some buds into the food saver
bags once. It really crushed them up. The mason
jar vacuum sealer worked much better and didn't
turn the buds to dust

This is the best jar sealer I have found:

Pump and Seal food saver vacuum sealer is better than Tilia FoodSaver

I have, however, used bags before. The key is to cut off the vacuum part before it crushes the buds. Most "newer" (within the last few years) vacuum sealers will allow you to seal the bag before all of the air is out.

thanks for the great responses guys, I'm glad I asked first!

my sealer has a place for an attachment to seal jars but it's missing and I don't know if I can find one for this model. Would putting the jar in the bag and taking the air out/sealing it work the same?

Yes...But... if you don't have a grill or something over the open'in of the jar.. the bag will suck down into the jar as the air is removed and leave'in the lid on would stop suction from the jar but don't guess it would really make a difference since the pocket of air in the jar would be seal'd in a vacumm package.

I think I'm gonna make a test run of a jar that doesn't have bud in it with the lid off... just to see what I get. Thanks for your help, I'll let you know what I come up with
