Its not the hair that you go by to tell if its ready.You want to look at the trichomes.The tiny mushroom looking glands on the bud and sweet leaf.

I agree with going by the trichomes.



I prefer my trichs all cloudy.

If you don't have one, get Illuminated Microscope - RadioShack.com
Be sure to click on the link "find it near you" because not all stores carry them.

Snip a sweet leaf and put it on a table on a white piece of paper to look at it. Some can look while the leaves are on the plants, my hands are not steady enough.

You can tell a lot from the color and condition of the flower pistils.
