Drying hole plants in cardboard boxes?
permalink

I was messing around on youtube and came across a video of a holland grower just cutting the stem at the bottom of the plant and putting the hole thing in a carboard box with no holes and leaving it in there for 4 months then pulling it out to a perfect dry and cure...

I want to know how does this not mold in the 4 months in the box and if it cures just as good as a 7-10 day hang dry and jar cure??? Has anyone tryied this method of drying/cureing and if so how was the smoke and how hard was it to trimm all the dry bud after months of being in boxes???

I can't answer all of that but I can answer some. I generally hang entire plants and only take off a few fan leaves prior to drying. Then, once dry, I trim. The trimming is very easy when done try compared to wet.

I have cured some without trimming too. I will tell you that an untrimmed cure is a much better cure, in my experience. I even store it, after curing, without being trimmed sometimes. I have found that this keeps the bud nice and sticky and also protects the trichs when you are opening and resealing jars.

As far as doing the entire process in a box, I doubt that would work as well but, then again, I have never tried it.

sounds like a pain in the ass way to dry imo. personally, i like to break it down as much as possible, wet even, to dry. it dries faster, more evenly, and less chance for mold.

booty, eeeeexactly.

Trim now, trim later, and then some more, and turn, and box, and bag. wtf

I take the big cola and hang it in a box and all the nugs on the screen and yes, the smaller I can cut them the better.
In 5-7 days they're ready for jars.
