Ok this is just the way that I'm wet trimming now. I'm trying to work on being the same consistency batch after batch when making either butter or oil for the edibles I supply one of the local medical clubs. Here's what I'm starting with. Some plants that need harvesting, some bags to collect the trimmings to keep them separate, rack to hang the plants on after being trimmed and scissors to do the job. ![]() One bag is mostly all just the finger leaves towards the tops of the buds, and then only full leaves if fully covered in thc. The best bag I'll call it. The other bag is everything else, which will be used for hash of some sort that won't make a difference if the extra plant material from leaves is in there. IMO I'll call this the hash bag. ![]() Start with this plant and nothing removed yet. ![]() Just about anything that isn't 100% coated in thc, goes into the hash bag. The main thing, is if I grab it like this, and it's not sticky, it goes into the hash bag, and not the best bag. You can see in this picture too that the leaf has thc on the stem and beginning of where the leaf forms out, but the main parts of the leave isn't covered in thc. ![]() Down to pretty much this then and everything is frosted leaf material that is left. I still do find some here and there that go into the hash bag, but the majority from here is into the best bag I keep. ![]() When trimming them, I find it easier to now cut the plant apart for hanging. The main cola, and one extra branch to hang it, but then going down the main stem, I like to do every 2 branches together as much as possible. In this photo, where my fingers are at in the 2 different spots, after the cola was removed. ![]() I suggest that, cause then you can hang them over whatever you use to hang them, and not as easy for them to fall off if bumped. I used strings for years, and now this clothes rack, that I move around, but even with a string on the ceiling if I would cut these in half, which I used to do. Only one bump of that string, and half the line will hit the floor. The buds bounce right off the line. Or, one kick of my drying rack, and they hit the carpet when moving it from room to room. Hanging them this way, I don't have any fall off the rack, and it can be bumped quite well. I've had it fall over from weight on one side, but they still never fell off the rods they were hanging on. ![]() Start with them looking mostly like this, and then just cut close enough to the bud to remove any of the frosted leaf material. ![]() And after wards it looks something like this. Once it now hangs to dry, most of the leaf material with shrink up and get sucked into the bud. Makes for nice looking buds. IMO ![]() Closer up of a cola shot after my wet trimming. ![]() Both bags are very much worth saving, and will be. I'm not saying to throw out anything here, just splitting up how I keep the trim to allow me for better use of it in the ways I'd like best for consistency for supplying the club with brownies mostly. I'll be showing how I use what I'm calling the best bag, and also the hash bag and make all that into whatever down the road, but this is showing how I got the trim for everything I'm making, and how I separated the trim for each bag. SSo--The hash bag has the leaf material that has leafs that are somewhat covered, but not totally covered in trichs. If it doesn't have trichs on it, and that's what gets you high, well then I doubt you will get high off of non-covered trich material, but that just seems logical to me I guess. I use only all fully covered trich leaf material for both my butter and oil, so I don't have to take into account the amount of leaf material that isn't covered in trichs. I stuff as much leaf material into my oil/butter as possible, and that is my way of hopefully coming out with the somewhat same potency oil/butter each time, but it always has to be the same, fully covered trich leaf material as much as possible. The hash bag will eventually go thru a pollinator, which I will show in another thread when I get to wanting to make some hash. I'm not a big hash fan though, so don't be holding your breath, could be a month for that one. Happy Trimming Alleycat

![]() | Beautiful photos! my firsr view of plant hoem grown inside by a normal person... and then all the close ups. One little plant woul dlast me 2 years! I have some questions about the hash bag. How do you dry these leaves? My 800g gift of leftovers looks liek your good bad dried up, but there is no sign of frosting. I don't know what I have here! Stanger still is the smell... does your hash bag, once dried, smell like MJ? my bad smells stong, permerates the entire house when open, but it smells like black tea. It should be from Super Shiva plants. Does this sound right to you for dried leavess??! I made my first oil out of it yesterday. Crock pot low 12 hours, but I chopped up everything really fine first. Now my oil smells ungadly and is so dark I can't even see through it!!? I'm afraid to eat it....hehe I can't see why the nice lady woudl invite me to stop by the next evening to her B&B, then bring a bag of 800g dried back tea, so it must be MJ of a sort. Please put your sniffer to work and tell me what that bag smells like! LOL!! TY
