Well I started flushing last Thurs, thats 3 flushings since then and bud growth really took off,I'm,(lost some leaves from the nute burn),, not sure about ripeness I really gave them both a good going over with using the 100x magnifier, I'm still seeing a handful of clear trichs and the rest are cloudy maybe an amber one here or there and the only brown hairs are really deep inside the bud,the rest are whitish tan,,how long can a plant live on just water,I'm only hitting 7 days on water today and last Sun made 56 days of flower but its lookin like I might need another week or two,,I do have some Big Bloom .01-.3-.7 or can I stay on all water till the end,,,whenever that maybe,,,,,all opinions are welcome,,,Thanks for the help

A well known gardener around these parts named Freakshow68 supports the method of fooding at 1/4 strength until the time of harvest and/or during your usual flushing period..
Freak says it better, but basically the 1/4 strength nutrients allows for better nutrient release.. makes sense..

Let's discuss Flushing in some depth is a pretty insightful and current thread on flushing..

Anywho.. The plant can live its entire life on straight water It is a weed

What kind of light did you flower under? how was the temps during the flowering period..

.. they look good BTW

Les---OK to me les that plant looks like it was maybe grown on MG ferts?? If not, sorry to say that and take my appology, but usually where I see that. Is that 2 differnt plants, only one seems MG burning ish??

But if that is the case, I've seen that with those nutes, and now since you started flushing, or straight water, it's now burning the plants.

The reason is the straight water is releasing the nutrients in the soil, but not enough water is then coming after they are released in the soil to flush them out, so it then in turn gives those nutrients to the plantinstead, which is too much Nitrogen usually, and then burns the plant with straight water.

That 1/4 strength nutes is usaully for hydro, or if you are gonna run 3-5 times your medium size down your drain in soil. Big waste of money in soil, just use straight water.

You can't water your soil at 1/4 strength, and not have enough runoff for the 1/4 strength water to saturate your soil, and the have enough runoff to wash those nutes out of the soil.

If you just add 1/4 strength to the soil already needing nutes washed out of it, you are just gonna burn them more I"d think too.

I'd saturate your soil, let it sit for 30 minutes and then run 3-5 times the amount of water thru the soil medium as the size of the medium. 1 gallon medium 3-5 gallons of water.

Do that each watering, and it will even out the flush and make the whole plant yellow up for you, straight water I'd suggest.

Happy Growing
