my first harvest for 2009
permalink

are my Adults from 2008

Salutations,
So, this past friday (4.10) I pulled my three plants of different strains after a 100 day flowering session. Which I thought was a bit too long. But early on my three strains stressed out and sadly hermed I'm told from a light leak in my room.
All was good after the leak was sought & destroyed (duck tape sealed plastic sheeting room divider, cab re-chaulking) and a good ferting with Fox Farm products (after getting my supplier "local nursery guy trying to start a biz here in cow town" off his ass to purchase some) flowering proceded after some pollination
But, all seemed good when I was told there was a good chance the seeds would be feminized due to no male influence during "the sexing thing"
So, 14 months and about 3 to 6" below a 48" Tek5 8-tube 3000*K H.O. unit sitting above my cab in my now sealed off from my grow room area flower room.
So, here's my lineup for the BIG 4-20 day

pic #1 - AK47 very small amount due to problems with plant damage during LST training
pic #2 - Trainwreck filled a 1qt mason jar for a 30-45 day curing (6 day to 4-20)
pic #3 - kgb also filled a 1qt mason jar same as above

I am very satisfied with what i've gotten though I don't have weights at this time (no scale) except for the loss of AK when the branch ripped away from the main trunk causing the plant to die. I believe it damaged the core of the plant and after upper plant removal the rest seemed to die as well, just took longer to work its way down.
Also, time was spent early on producing seed in all three strains which i'm sure the use of the wonderful oscillating fan allowed each strain to cross pollinate ...
Now, i've been collecting all the seeds I find (have about 30 beautiful dark brown mottled and tiger striped) Trainwreck seeds though i've found a few in either kgb and AK. I am keeping them in separately marked 35mm continers in a cool dark place for future use in case God forbid anything happens to my clones.

Like so many others who visit our forum and/or become members I wish to thank you for the advice through the many hours of reading back posts and new from the many knowledgeable members

Thank You!

for filling my empty well with very useful knowledge.

Sincerly

don

p.S. Now all I have to do is finish cleaning my flower room and finish putting my cab back together after taking apart for cleaning and restart my 2nd session with my 1st LST Project 2009 ... Just have to stop taste testing ... darn testing

my friends - nigel, Sso, Nelson, ha0be and mayan !!!

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a virtual "Scratch-n-Sniff" and/or (my fav) "Smell-O-Vision" and/or (this is the one i'd like to come up with) "Bowl-A-Smoke" devices that plug into any available 1.0/2.0 or better USB port on any pc, mac or console (if they have em).
I'd love to share but, I haven't figured out just how to get the buds from my Resin Heaven through the serial port without damage to the bud of course..

Have a Great Day
don

p.S. I guess I should've posted before pics prior to trimming for cure so here ya go ...
This first harvest of last years Adults in large 4 gallon containers will be the last planting in these larger containers due to just too much wasted ferts, water and flushing per plant.
pic 1 - kgb
pic 2 - what was left of AK47's lower portion "popcorn" filling out after upper was removed
pic 3 - Trainwreck
The aroma during trimming was an awesome combo of fruity and skunky and the high I got through from handling just messed me up for the day ... Nothing got done that day and then came Easter, nothing done that day either.. Here it is Wednesday and still ...
the flower room isn't washed and the cab is still unfinished in the middle of the room waitin for it's sides and front door to be remounted..

I can empathize. I LST'd a fully seeded blueberry female last year and she split like a wishbone when I tightened the screws just a bit too much.

Sickening sound, isn't it? I've ripped and snapped and broken branches on plants and trees my whole life. Never made me feel panic before. You can grow attached to a plant you've put a lot of your time into.

Regardless, that's a nice haul there! Beautiful buds. That should keep you occupied for a while
