DIY Dry Shed
permalink

I am looking at building a small DIY dry shed that will be large enough to hold a DryNet.
I want to put it right beside my grow tent and tap right into the ventilation, am I going to need 2 fans? I am looking at the 6" Vortex fan right now (Can't really afford anything bigger)

Here was my initial thoughts for order:

Outdoor Intake -> ducting -> Fan -> ducting -> 400w -> ducting -> Charcoal Filter -> ducting -> dry shed -> ducting

We currently have an inline fan hooked up in the house to bring in air (No idea on speeds or anything) but I was thinking of taking it out and adding it at the end of that chain with another charcoal filter.

Otherwise, I really don't have anywhere else to do drying ATM.

Thanks

But did it bring him happiness, even through his grief? Oh yes it did, my compliments to the 7 Pointed Leaf.

not sure how you got ducting coming out of y our carbon filter....but above is how id do it.

i just took a cardboard box, hung a screen in it and i put that inside my grow room when drying. it has a little fan to circulate the air and thats it. the grow room is odor controlled, so the drying process is too.

I don't think I am going to have enough space to grow in the GrowLab 145 to grow and dry in there would I?

So the filter is totally the end of the chain?? what if I wanted to keep the airflow going into my dry cabinet?

just hook your grow tent up normal like..dont even worry about the dry box.

once thats all going, the tent will have negative pressure if you did it right. so now, when you open the intakes on the tent, just make one intake pull through your dry box.

i would put the filter inside the tent, pulling the air through filter, through the light and out the tent.

open a vent for intake, run that vent to your drybox. poke a couple holes or whatever on the other side of the dry box. now you have negative pressure in your drybox so the smell wont leak out. smell will be pulled into your growlab and filtered by the carbon filter..

all problems solved.

Kind of makes me wish I paid more attention in science classes LOL.

Now, when you say puling the air through the filter, does that mean I should have my fan after the filter??

That kind of confuses me more, it doesn't look like it's venting out to anywhere??

Or is it starting by going through the filter -> fan -> light -> exhaust?

I guess the next question is where is it venting in from?

the air goes filter~>fan~>light~~~>out the top of the tent.

The intakes are the vents located at the bottom of the tent. usually they are square doors with flaps over them, but you can also use the ducts at the bottom. run one of those ducts from the bottom into your dry box.

I am trying to figure out if there is a way I can keep the fan outside, as I just read this:

Quote:
All GrowLab models have a sock port in the back corner of the roof where the exhaust fan can be attached. Instead of strapping the fan to the interior of the tent you can simply sit the fan in the port on the roof for an easy and effective mounting solution. Not only does this make for a secure, light-tight fit (there is no chance of the fan breaking away from the straps due to vibration and falling on the plants), it also takes one more piece of heat-generating equipment out of the grow room
