To freeze or not to Freeze?
permalink

i just harvested some Lowlife ak47 about two weeks ago and i want to take about 2 ounces and keep it around for a while. would freezing it be worth the trouble or should i just leave it in a canning jar sitting in a dark place. i have done this for years but my bud always looks like crap after a month or two. it turns brown and real crispy. i like the way it smokes right now and smells lovely. would freezing it right now keep it this way. i was going to use small jars with a about 14 grams in each so i didnt have to open it all at once. and how long would it last in a freezer. im hopeing until at least next 420. any info would be greatly appreciated

considering reports of others curing, i would think there is something wrong with your jars or the way you store them

bud cured for a year in a jar, is supposed to be the bees knees. or some really really good shit, if i move abit closer to modern expressions.

I am smoking last years harvest....never been in freezer....cured and then packed in gallon mason jars, vacuum sealed and stored in a cardboard box in cool dry and dark location.

The taste and smoke is just fine thanks...

spaceman do you vacuum seal your jars?

I do & then store the jars in a box in a rarely used closet. I smoked some of my weed that was 2 years old and it was killer!

yeah, have to be airtight and if you dont have a vacum sealer...

well all the extra air in the jars (specially if big jars) is gonna keep on working on them.

but ive never cured (its on my todo list) so im really talking out of my ass here.
its just logical and according to what ive read on the subject.,

try to stay with glass storage mediums....trichomes will stick to plastic...plastic has also been known to effect taste in long term
