![]() | Last night I tested the results of my first grow, and it wasn't pleasant. It took two fat joints to get even a moderate buzz, and a half hour later I was down on my knees in front of the toilet, puking my guts out. For the next two hours I was staggering back and forth to the toilet with the dry heaves, so weak and dizzy I had to hang onto the wall to stand up. I've been racking my brains to think of a reason, and my best theory is that the plants were attacked by a mold or mildew during curing. The leaves are all bright green, though, with no visible signs of mold. For security reasons I was forced to harvest at least a week earlier than intended. The largest colas were about 1 1/2 inches and only a few stigmas had turned brown. The soil hadn't been purged of fertilizer yet, and there was still some 10-60-10 in there. The fertilizer used was Plant Prod 20-20-20 and 15-30-15 from Walmart, and the last watering was with Schultz 10-60-10. I have been adding just a few crystals of Epson salts to each two liters of water. The plants were never sprayed with insecticide or anything else. At harvest I cut the plants and hung them upside down in the growbox, with the lights off and the fans running. In just a few hours the leaves were all wilted and soft. This seemed too fast, so I put the fans on a timer to run a half-hour at a time, four times during the 24 hours. The rest of the time they hung in the humid darkness. Now they seemd to dry too slowly, so I ran the fans for an hour or so at a time occasionaly. In four days the fan leaves were dry and crispy, so I clipped them off. The flowers then dried overnight, so the whole drying process took five days. The variety is Northern Lights, and they had a wonderful spicey smell during flowering. Soon after cutting it turned into an unpleasant acrid odor which got stronger and stronger. The drying was a lot smellier than the growing, and the odor was nasty instead of nice. I had to put bigger plates in the ozone generator and run it until I was nearly choking in an attempt to kill the stink. The ozone generator is on the exhaust, BTW, not the intake. My main question, I suppose, is whether it is normal for the smell to turn unpleasant during the first stage of curing? It's hard to describe an odor, except it is pungent and eye-watering. My pot smells sort of like ragweed amplified fifty times. This was my first grow and I expected to make some mistakes. I can live with a small yield and do better next time, but it's sort of discouraging when three months work turns out completly unsmokeable. I've got it saved in jars, but don't have much hope that this batch will improve. Does anybody have any clues? I want to do some redesigning of the box before the next grow, with more lights and a quieter venilation system, but don't want to sink in more money if the results are the same as this batch.

Clean the best you can,put in a blender and add to mix. Cook per instructions. Now a word of caution NEVER eat Brownie as you think. Eat 1/8 as much then wait 1/2 hour. If you can find your fingers and hands your in. If you can not and get lost, next time 1/16. It is common to over fert and not flush if you did not do you home work in pot growing. 0

![]() | I didn't have much choice about the time of harvest or flushing. The landlord will soon be paying a visit and the box has to be taken apart and hidden in the closet by then. I'm sure that the ferts in the plants didn't help, but I don't think it was the main problem. I made a biiiiig mistake in turning off the fans so they would dry slower. The box is in my bedroom where it's fairly warm and they just plain rotted. Yesterday I put the stuff in glass jars, probably still too damp. I just checked them now and the smell is enough to gag a maggot. You would *not* want to eat brownies with this pot in them. Three months down the tubes, but you're right smokinrav, I most certainly won't make that mistake again.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't know that it's the ferts. I was leaving for xmas holidays and decided to harvest first and only had one flush, then 48 hours before harvest. I over dried, too. It's a tad harsh, but the high is GREAT. I've only had one person puked, but he also drank two pitchers of [liquid off topic substance deleted] and a few shots of [liquid off topic substance deleted] first, so he doesn't count. Yeah, you gotsta be over careful with the moisture on those bad-boys. That's why I over dried. I was leaving down, so instead of sticking them in jars and leaving them for a few days with no supervision, I just hung them behind my door and lettem have a fan on them. A little harsher, but there's no mold! Try try again!
