| Welcome to Marijuana.com Frozen! Yes, heat destroys THC. The best way is to let them dry naturally by hanging the buds up, or letting them dry on a window screen, or similar drying rack. Any method used to quick dry buds will make them harsh, but a food dehydrator would dry the buds without destroying THC, as the oven does. It would still smoke harsh though. If it takes two weeks for the buds to dry at room temperature, then that's great, they will cure, and smoke alot smoother.Peace, Observer | ||

| Yeah, the slower you dry it the better. Preferably in a dark, cool place. Just watch closely for mold, keep the air moving. Then, after it's dry, there a couple of ways to store it. Some like to seal the dry buds into a lightproof glass jar and let it cure, the longer the better, again watching for mold. This really brings out the flavor (some believe). Or you can freeze it, pref in a rigid plastic container. D9 | ||

I always liek to try and get different views of the same situation to try and discover what works best for me. Pece LB

| Here is an idea for anyone. When I dry quickly I use a dehumidfier. I bought a used one at Goodwill for about $15.00. I works great. I have built a box that has 4 screen racks in it and can hold quite a bit at one time. The dry air moves around the box at will. Now you have to be careful with it, because it will dry the buds in about 4-5 hours. I let it run for 30-40 minutes at a time and check the buds. The quick burst of dry air really accelerates the drying process. Then I cool it and let the moisture from the stems wick into the buds for several hours. I repeat the dry air as I need it. I might run the dehumidifier for a total of two hours at best. The small buds are done overnight and the big ones take several days. The dehumidifier is turned on only when need to accelerate the drying process. After the bulk of the moisture is removed I let the bud cure on its own for a week before smoking. I take a pinch every day and do a bong hit to check for the quality of the cure. When I am wacked it's cured, and so am I. | ||

| Well, I actually use a pretty simple method, mainley because I'm in a situation that doesn't allow me alot of choices, as far as an area to work in.....heh. I just layer my buds about two inches thick in brown papper grocery bags, and leave the bag open. This means that I only put 2" of buds in each bag. I put them somewhere like a warm room. I like to turn the buds every day or two so they don't mold, and so they all dry evenly. After they're dry, I vacuum pack them in bags, or jars with a Food Saver vacuum packaging system. | I hang my buds in a dark, cool room with a fan, not blowing directly on them. When they dry to the point they're dry on the outside but the stems aren't (3-5 days)I cut them from the stalk and switch to Observer's method. After they dry I cure them in a sealed bottle in a cool dark place for as long as I can.(not long!) For long term storage I freeze them. D9 | ||

If done with care the buds are clean and bright green and tight as can be.

Get a plastic crate and put holes in the bottom. Then make a hole in the top and goto radio shack and buy a 3 inch fan that will suck air out. Put some racks in there and you have a nice air dryer...
